The berries that grow on their tail taste like frozen cranberries when eaten fresh. They make for pretty decorations and are delicious when used in baking.

Description

They evolve from Anthenian Morgrem based on their age. Unlike their Galarian counterparts, they produce both male and female offspring. Merrygrimm grow far taller than their Galarian cousins, some of them even reaching as tall as seven feet.

The festive spirit of a Merrygrimm is unmatched, especially around the holidays. These warm-hearted but cold-skinned Pokémon will spend weeks preparing for upcoming holidays, knitting and baking the day away. The caves they live in are beautifully decorated and clean with working kitchens they assembled themselves, often out of wood and stone. Crafty and skilled with their hands, they can easily make furniture without a blueprint or plans. Anyone walking into their home might not realise they found a Pokémon den.

During festivals, they descend on any nearby village or city ready to hand out the gifts they prepared. Over the years, it became a custom to offer crafting goods and baking ingredients in return as a thank you. Their gifts usually consist of baked goods, painted pine cones and knitted clothing made from their hair. Strong and coloured using natural dyes, their durable hair can keep the cold away even in freezing temperatures. They'll happily cut some off to knit mittens or a hat to warm up their friends. It grows back in less than a day anyways.

Despite their gentle temperament, you wouldn’t want to get on a Merrygrimm’s bad side. Hurting their young is the fastest way to piss them off, although you might not survive the consequences. Their hair is capable of moving independently of their body so expect it to snag your ankle before you get a chance to run. Strong enough to restrain an Abomasnow, their braided tail is capable of squeezing the life out of their enemies. That combined with their incredible physical strength and heightened intelligence makes them a formidable foe. When happy, their favourite hobbies include baking, making snow Snovers, and singing.
