YAY~! finally some fanart of one of my favorite series! while milling about dA I noticed there wasn't too much Sailor Moon/ballet work, so I thought I would contribute, what being a fan of SM and a previous dancer in WAY earlier years. this is my first fanart of SM, actually, and i'm excited about the results. I was practically giggling while drawing the adorable Tuxedo Nutcracker. normally I would have this colored, but if I ever got my hands on Photoshop I would use it to color and combine drawings to make scenes. that will...take awhile...TT_TTI am basing the cast on a video I saw on youtube, which you can follow on this link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vz8aGQ…
Serena as Clara (excuse me if I prefer the Americanized names X3)
Darien as the Nutcracker Prince
Amy as Snowflakes
Raye as Spanish Hot Chocolate
Lita as Chinese Tea
Mina as Danish Marzipan Shepherdess
Rini and Helios as Mother Ginger children
Amara as Russian Peppermint
Michelle as Arabian Coffee
Trista as Flowers
Tomoe as Dewdrop Fairy(video says soldier, though I thought I would emphasize her youthfulness more than her destructive counterpart)
Sailor Cosmos as Sugar Plum Fairy
Sailor Starlights as Tin Soldiers
Andrew and Lizzie as Vivandière and a Soldier
Molly and Melvin as Harlequin and Columbine
Sammy as Fritz
Princess Kakyuu as Aunt Drosselmeyer(yeah, yeah, she's a woman, but there aren't too many good guy influential men in Serena's life, so...)
Various other characters as guests and fillers
some of the characters will double as guests, so more work for me to do ^^. I couldn't say which bad guy would be the Mice because they all wear masks. Luna, Artemis, and Diana will make an appearance as guests ^^.
on to reasoning: I do want to make this a SM/Nutcracker ballet, however I don't want the costumes to be TOO reminiscent of the Sailor outfits. some elements will be kept, and some will be changed to be compatible with the practicality of dancing as well as matching the Nutcracker look. hair will be kept the same despite usual requirements for hair to be up in certain scenes.
okay, Serena's dress DOES look like the Sailor uniform. it was not uncommon, however, that in the Victorian period the sailor look was very popular, so this is actually appropriate. the downside is that the sailor look is more for summer wear, so... take it or leave it.

She looks very lovely in that outfit! Would it be all right if I colored it for you?

Thank you! ^^
I probably would have said no because I have Krita now and could revamp it, but this project is so old, I don't feel up to it; feel free to color her if you'd like :3

In the meantime, I think this picture will be accompanied by one of Tchaikovsky's musical pieces I like to call "Clara and her Nutcracker Doll."

I found out that pink is her favorite color, so can you color this outfit and pair of ballet slippers in different shades of pink?

That's a good idea, but I'm sorry, luv; I don't have Photoshop, so unless I went through the MOST primitive process of printing, coloring, and rescanning, these line arts are not going to have color anytime soon.
Thank you for the suggestion, though. I'll think about it if I ever get around to it ^^
