Hey, I'm one of the judges for Gardevoir City's contest, and I'll rate your pic.
Color: 7/10
The couple are very well colored and I like the different tones used for the shading. But I wish the background had more color to it.
Detail: 7/10
Gardevoir is missing a chin. It looks like the mouth and neck are right next to each other with no chin in between. Also, the horn looks awkward and seems like its impaling her left breast instead of being in the middle. Her other features are well done. The boy looks feminine, but I think he's well detailed. The cherry blossoms make the pic look more romantic and I like the Japanese characters on the pic. However, the background looks rather blah, and it holds this pic back from being a great one. More detail into it would have made it stand out more.
Overall: 8/10
It fits the Valentine's day theme well enough, but doesn't necessarily indicate that.
Total: 22/30
Aside from the bland background and some abnormalities on Gardevoir, this pic is well done.

Hia! I'm one of the judges for the contest! I'll go ahead and tell what the rating of the picture from me is.
Color: 8/10 The shading is light like but, the coloring is great. It tell what stands out. ^^
Detail: 8/10 The detail is nice and neat. But, the background is a little light and it helps make the characters stand out.
Overall: 10/10 The feel of love was great. I think cherry blossoms helped with the feeling of love.
Total: 26/30 The feeling of love got it enough to prove the Valentine love for the two.

As a judge for the Gardevoir-City Valentines Day contest, here's my thoughts on your picture:
Color: 7/10
Although the characters have a generous amounts of strong color to them, I feel the same attention has not been paid to the background environment, and that really stands out in this picture.
Detail: 7/10
Gardevoir's face looks a little awkward as the lineart makes it appear flat with no chin or jaw. The horn placement also feels awkward as it looks like it is jutting out of the side of her left breast rather than the sternum. There are a few places where the inked lines overlap each other, causing some placement confusion. The background gives a feeling of an overhead shot, the falling pedals are a beautiful extra bit of detail that makes the picture feel more romantic. I don't understand what the japanese characters mean so I'm going to assume it has something to do with either the two characters or Valentine's day. As it is written in red, it does a good job of covering the void white space on the right side of the picture. The human (boy?) is embellished with a good attention to detail in the clothing and hair. Even the hands are rendered convincingly enough.
Overall: 10/10
Properly matches the Valentine's Day theme, no suggestions needed.
Total: 24/30
I like the intimate expressions the two share with each other as they hold hands. It really adds a strong finish to the drawing and makes it feel like there is something more going on between them.

this looks very nice!
one thing though, are they both girls or am I just seeing wrong? I have REALLY bad gender-identification skills, thanks to being inundadted with androgynous people and transitory-gendered family/friends. Really hacks up skills like that.

It's supposed to be a guy but influenced by a type of style that features a lot of Androgynous people, so it makes sense that he looks that way
