Description
So I was thinking about Zelda a lot and I thought it would be cool to try and make Link a more realistic outfit and weaponry while keeping it pretty traditional. To be honest, Nintendo did not do a bad job designing one iteration of Link: the one from Twilight Princess which is the one I based my Link on most.
SO I set out on trying to figure out an armor that would be suitable for adventuring and I came up with the idea of a long sleeve shirt and pants under a chainmail hauberk and a green sleevless gambeson and padded leggings. Above the gambeson are plate armor pieces protecting Link's more vital and less defended areas. His boots also have greaves and steel toes. This would offer very good defense even without the shield.
Speaking of the shield, that was actually something I decided to change tremendously. Link would be much better off with a kite shield as it would offer WAY more protection than his heater shield equivalent. This shield is pretty much the reason Link could even get away with having no armor at all. But this shield along with the armor I have given him makes him very good on defense.
The Master Sword... whoo boy... So I decided to slim it down a bit on the crossguard and also fanned it out a little more to provide even better hand protection. I also shortened the blade considerably. The original was straight up a longsword. Since Link doesn't use it with two hands all that often, I opted to make it a bastard sword, a sort of in between of an arming sword and a longsword. I also gave it a fuller and a profile and distal taper to make the weapon both lighter and more effective.
And finally the scabbard or sheath. I decided to take a note from Shadiversity about how a back scabbard should be designed and I will put a link to the video below. I think he was very much onto something and I really wanted Link to keep the sword on his back. Well, thanks to Shad, I now know that it is possible and still practical.
So what do you guys think?

Recognized the Shad scabbard the moment I saw it. Great work!
