I'm back with my second part of comparisons drawing and like how I did it with the first part - I made a second part of grandpups comparisons by including the following three - Galena, Kassan and Amber.
You see, as I rebooted BIS over three years ago, this also meant that some characters needed different looks or weren't too appealing so I have figured out who, in my opinion, deserved better looks.
Galena - the only daughter of Dingo and Dana and their eldest pup, also the first of Balto's grandpups to meet a love of her life. I always imagined her to have this plum red fur like how her father has, but being limited at a time with color choices, like her cousin Allina, she also had that generic red and white fur combination. Looking at her old looks, I was as displeased as I was with the previous three as that generic red and white looks too plastic on her. Not only I made her fur plum red, but I also changed her muzzle color from black to brown and red combination, which I find pretty cute and it turns out it runs down her maternal side (Dana has a normal black muzzle, but her sister Janine has red and brown combo). Other than that, her collar is the same as before.
Kassan - Dingo and Dana's middle pup and older son, who's the biggest mischief among grandpups. He has his mother's look and his fur color looks the same, but what bothered me was that he was his mother's gender swap clone in almost every aspect and that bothered me a lot over time. Same fur color? Check. Same facial markings? Check. Same eye color? Check. By the time I rebooted BIS, I realized he needed to have a slightly changed looks. Therefore, he keeps the same fur color, but his face has slightly different markings and are brighter than his fur, plus his eyes are teal instead of bright blue because I only have two other grandpups OCs who are green eyed (Tundra and Denahi). Him wearing a collar on the right side isn't a new adition, it's just that him being a mischief to the left prevents the collar from being seen!
Amber - the middle pup of Yukon and Yin and their younger daughter, who inherits her mother and her uncle's distinctive facial markings. Like with Allina and Galena, Amber's fur color was always written as dark red like her father's and her underbelly is gray compared to Allina's tan and Galena's white. Once again, as I repeat myself, color limitations made me color her in generic red (but over time I relied on a darker shade of red, which I didn't find quite pleasing yet) and it didn't feel right to see it on her. Therefore, with rebooted BIS, Amber sports her father's dark red fur and gray underbelly whereas the eyes come from her mother. In other words, seeing her with her updated looks made me pretty happy and let's be honest, it suits her better than the old design any other time.
So, this marks part two - part three will feature just one grandpup and two non-grandpups, giving me idea to extend this mini-project.
