Description If Love is like an open door, then spoofing is slamming it in your face

Funny how I first heard of Frozen back in 2013, it was actually through my mom who thought it was a sequel to Tangled. After searching images online, I could see why she came to that conclusion.

Now it's not uncommon for Disney to 'recycle' models and templates for another film of theirs, it's been done before (and not only by Disney for that matter). But Anna & Rapunzel, Anna and Elsa...But in honesty, I have nothing against it at all. After all, if it's Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winning worthy, hell, we should all be recycling stuff...

BUT LET ME BE CLEAR, I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST DISNEY OR THE FILMS IN QUESTION. I LOVE DISNEY AND ITS FILMS. THIS IS JUST A POLITICAL-STYLE OBSERVATION NOTHING MORE.

Frozen (film & characters) Elsa & Anna © "2013" Chris Buck, Jennifer Lee, Peter Del Vecho & Shane Morris "based: Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen" (Walt Disney Pictures & Animation Studios ™  )

Recycling certain antics is fine, but there's a limit which I think this movie may have overstepped. Also, movies have come a long way since the days of Robin Hood, where short cuts were almost needed (even with them, Disney still put in an immeasurable amount of work in their movies).

The models are one thing, but the Personalities just make me smh. Elsa and Anna are both Rapunzle, just split apart. One is burdened with a powers she was born with, knowing she should stay away from the world, while the other is oblivious and wants to explore the world. You are right in that Disney has recycled many things, but I don't think that makes it okay. More original works, like Bambi or Wreck-It Ralph, feel more... for lack of a better word... genuine.

Frozen is an attempt to capitalize on Tangled's success, and while I'm not too angry considering it was a good move market-wise, I cannot help but feel this movie would've been much better had it went its own route instead of "Tangled, but somewhere else."

You know, I'm not really sure that Anna's model WAS recycled from Rapunzel's.  Their faces have differing proportions, and Rapunzel seems taller too.

I'm not saying it's true. It's just a humorical observation

A lot of people believe that Tangled and Frozen are the same story in different times. Hell, there's even a cameo of what looks like Rapunzel and Flynn in Frozen!

yeah, I remember this. They used the same background in Winnie the Pooh and Jungle Book. And the facial style of Alice in  Wonderland was used for Ariel in the Little Mermaid. So I totally get it. But... they're all really pretty, so I'm not complaining. ;D

This could have potentially happened in the movie, because in one scene if you look reeeeaaal closely, you can see Rapunzel(brunette) and Flynn making a cameo.

Ever think of making it into a crossover comic? I think it'd lead to a lot of laughs! Think of it: you could be the next Gary Larson (creator of the Far Side comic strip).

eeeh, well, my comics aren't of the cleanest standards if you catch my drift.

Never was fortunate with un-fetish comics, per say.

Plus, comics are alot of work, which I have not much time to go upon.

The picture here was pretty pure, and I do like your restraint, though, (pure including clean) and I doubt that I would like your work if it's: rude, irrevrent, or impure, but that one was good!

Such a funny picture, that I remember a few saying that Anna looks too much like Rapunzel, or that Frozen seems more like a sequel to Tangled, which I don't agree. Disney is not the only studio to ever recycle anything, as I have seen with Warner Bros and Hanna Barbara. Me, I have nothing negative to say, only that I love both films.

Uh, it's not the same principle at all.  Recycling a few seconds of dance animation isn't really the same thing as almost identically-designed principal characters.  There's just no reason for Disney to be doing that these days.  I agree though, down with Glee.

Weren't some people saying Rapunzel looked like a blond Ariel (the Little Mermaid) way back when?

I dunno, I thought Anna and Rapunzel look a lot alike too, but that really doesn't bug me. Doesn't take away from the quality of the films, I say.
