Description
If Love is like an open door, then spoofing is slamming it in your face
Funny how I first heard of Frozen back in 2013, it was actually through my mom who thought it was a sequel to Tangled. After searching images online, I could see why she came to that conclusion.
Now it's not uncommon for Disney to 'recycle' models and templates for another film of theirs, it's been done before (and not only by Disney for that matter). But Anna & Rapunzel, Anna and Elsa...But in honesty, I have nothing against it at all. After all, if it's Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winning worthy, hell, we should all be recycling stuff...
BUT LET ME BE CLEAR, I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST DISNEY OR THE FILMS IN QUESTION. I LOVE DISNEY AND ITS FILMS. THIS IS JUST A POLITICAL-STYLE OBSERVATION NOTHING MORE.

hahahahahaha nicely done sir ^^
im a little behind on the ball here as i only have just watched Rapunzel and i haven't seen frozen
but your right the character designs are very similar
i would like to say this, it is way easier to use similar character designs and change them slightly in cg than making a whole new one from scratch lol XD

i dont really see the similarities even when i look at the pictures next to each other...i clearly pick out many differences in their appearances....i just see it as their 3d modeling/drawing style....when i draw and when my friend draws all our characters kinda look like they could be related....im not the best artist though...but my friend is awesome and yeah all her characters have a similar feel.....i like they way they are doing it.....and people say that their artists have been kicked out too because of the CGI business but i doubt that is true....someone still has to do the initial drawings for all the characters so the CGI model team has something to base their work off....its a team effort....if anything i think it opened up job opportunities

Valid point
I remember seeing on Tumblr that the similarities give the impression that Anna & Elsa could be Rapunzel's cousins
Plus that frying pan XD

Since the company resurfaced with The Little Mermaid, no pun intended, in order to put out in theaters a movie every year they have to work on 4 different movies at the same time. They did mention so in many interviews and news shows. Given that everything's CGI now they're going to use certain things over and over. If you read the credits most of the same artists who worked in Tangled are the ones in Frozen. Both fairy tales, both about a girl, sure there's going to be a lot of similarities!
BTW Frozen is not based on the Snow Queen, is not a real adaptation of the tale like others, rather is INSPIRED BY the tale.

if you look at 101 Dalmatians and at The Jungle Book, you can clearly see that some of the wolves from the Jungle Book are the Dalmatians in wolf form love both the films

I wouldn't say lazy but stupid. Considering that the reason they changed the titles were to make them more "gender neutral", thinking that's why The Princess and the Frog didn't do as well in theaters as hoped. Marketing these days...

Seen Frozen, heard of Wicked but not seen. I enjoyed Frozen, and I'd assume Wicked would be like able as well.

I adore Frozen, but in my opinion, Wicked is better. I'm only saying this because Wicked was made better, was deeper, and made more sense. While Frozen was gorgeously made and had beautiful music, there were some rough areas, and also, Wicked is just a really hard thing to live up to. But both are amazing. c:

It's just their style. HUGE EYES O_O
but I don't mind anyways; if it doesn't detract from the story or make the character too much of a derivative, it's fine.
Of course, I care NOTHING for the oscars or golden globes. Those awards used to mean something, now they seem to be giving them to anyone.

2013 was a hit and miss when it came to movies, but thats my two cents. I've got nothing against the movie, but it wasn't my cup of tea. No offense to you of course.

Agreed. For the longest time the only Disney "princess" I liked as a character was Calla from Gummi Bears, but now Elsa is now tied with Eluza from Gall Force for my all-time favorite fictional female.

I believe the girls are supposed to be cousins - as in their mothers were sisters. If you look closely during the scene where the gates are being opened, you'll see Rapunzel and Eugene walking into the castle for the coronation.
