I haven't had an ID in a long time on here. All my old ones were either from before I really learned the ropes with my digital art, so they don't really reflect my current skill level, or else they were just smaller versions of full-sized pieces in my gallery, which kind of took favorites and such away from the original pieces they were based on. I kind of missed having one on my front page, so I decided to whip one up this morning, since I had time on my hands.I thought I'd do one for a change that actually had a little basic information on it like a real ID card would, so that's all I really did here. The basis for the background is part of a photo of myself that I didn't particularly care for back when I took it, as it was too blurry among other things, but with a little manipulation and paintwork, it makes a pretty decent Deviant ID.

Isn't it a bit peculiar how we look at something and decide, 'eh, don't really care for it', and then at a later time we see something in it to make a satisfying image. That has been happening a lot with me.
So, your birthday is 4 months before mine (is 14 a lucky number? *well, yeah, it's the birth date*)

Ha ha.... I am originally from California. The Monterey Bay area. I may live in Connecticut, but I don't really like it here that much. It really doesn't fit me, so it's no wonder people find out I live here and go "what... really?" One day I hope to be able to relocate again to somewhere a little more "me". In the meantime, there's always the world up in my head. I always fit in there.
I always put away my photos and such that I don't particularly care for at the moment. Often I find they are great to cut up and use in my artwork, or to give to my boyfriend to use in his, later on. I'm a firm believer in the idea that just because something seems useless at first glance, it doesn't necessarily mean that I'm right about that.

Well said, I seem to be picking up the pieces more and more from my 'scraps' folder on my computa and actually make them work or incorporate into a piece.
BTW, you did not fool me, you have that west coast thing going and it is hard to hide. It was just shocking, Conneticut, how the heck did you end up there. And remember this, if you had not gone there you would not havbe met your boyfriend. We may never understand the why and what of the things in our life but there are reasons nevertheless.

Actually, I wound up here because of my boyfriend, although he is not from Connecticut either and doesn't like it any more than I do. Long story. We actually met on Live Journal a couple of years ago, became friends, and then eventually became more. I moved here to be with him. It made more sense for me to move than him because he is the one with the career and he has a good job that we both decided it is best he keep for now.
As for what was on my mind in the photo? Hmmm... I honestly don't remember. Could have been anything. It was way back in January that I took that, although I don't look any different in it than I do now, except maybe my hair is a slightly brighter shade of red than it is in the ID.
