Description
So I've decided I'm officially ready for spring. To celebrate the occasion, here is my official Coming of Spring piece. I was inspired by finally having seen Narnia last night on DVD, and I especially liked some of the images of winter transitioning to spring in ways that you could really see and marvel at, so I decided to interpret that my own way. This being here is the Bringer of Spring, here modeled after `lockstock , but I wanted her to look as if she were stuck somewhere between winter and spring, hence the icicle-like halo, and the pale coloring in tandem with the new blossoms pouring from her fingertips. I like the idea of a being like this strolling about at night working her magic. It would certainly explain the seemingly sudden manner in which the very first signs of spring eventually appear. Snowy background is from sxc .Details for this piece can be seen here .

Speaks prodominately about the season change and that is what I like about the power of your pieces. You give so much theory and analization behind your artistic matrimony to viewer and deviations. What a beautiful conduit into the majestic world of transition.

Great concept. I like the idea of it and the flowers SPRINGing from her hands. She visited my yard a couple of weeks ago and left my trees and bushes suddenly blooming like crazy. Unfortunately, she also left the weeds in the flower beds and yard sprouting up like crazy.
Anyway, excellent painting as always from you.

Aw... thank you! I know what you mean! It looks like she finally paid me a visit last night! My trees have all these wonderful little buds on them that weren't there last time I looked.

Thanks! I'm usually all about the darks or brights, but delicate just seemed more appropriate here.

Totally! Didn't it rock? I was so excited to see your journal entry this morning and learn I wasn't the only one that felt full of inspiration after watching it.

Thank you! And yeah, I guess I just have this love of putting things together that don't really belong... like naked or barefoot people in snow... characters in settings that you don't really expect... things like that.

Agree, these things are fun. I did a thing with ice cubes in a fireplace once which came out really good. It was for a trance compilation CD.
