Description
This is one of six photos I had to take for my Digital Imaging class over the summer. For my final series, I decided to take macro (as close as I could get with my lens, anyway) shots of carnivorous plants in the greenhouse at my college. This plant is a venus fly trap- it lures insects into its 'mouth' and has hair-triggers inside. When an insect touches the triggers, the leaves close around the insect in order to trap and digest it. Below it is a sticky-sap-something-or-other plant. I can't remember the name of that one. XD

It's beautiful! As are all the others too but I don't think you'd like me to flood your inbox with me trying (and failing terribly) to tell you how beautifully beautiful they all are!

It was SO COOL. I admit to getting a stick and poking them to make them close up, teehee. >u<

Hehehe, it's fun to get a reaction outta them... To think plants could be so active is a strange and wonderful thing!

Yeah! ^^ You totally get it!
Have you ever seen a plant that plays dead? When you touch it, there's this one kind of plant that closes up its fern-like leaves and droops as if it died. You can guess that I poked it for about an hour. XDDDDD
