I thought I'd try a short MLP comic. Something so cute seems a natural for my art, so I figured it'd be fun. And it was.
Here, Fluttershy thinks her new friend "Harry" (Hairy, get it?) is adorably cute. And as a tarantula owner myself, I agree with her! XD However, not everyone shares our adoration of hairy things with lots of legs. I thought Rarity would be the one who would be most freaked out by a giant spider, no matter how cute. But of course, she still tries to stay polite.

Because the kind of spiders people keep as pets (like tarantulas) have a tendency to be hairy.
Either that or a murder attempt was made on the spider when was a baby that left it with a lightning bolt scar.

I think spiders are neato, but you do kind of have to empathize a lot more with them and less with all the other arthropods they're killing and eating.
