I cannot describe the way I feel about this picture. I respect and honor you for making it, and for just attempting to help in general. You're an inspiration as is this picture.
I Love this picture simply because I know how hard it is to just live through every day feeling like no one cares what's wrong with you when in fact they just haven't noticed.
Thank you for bringing this to the attention of many.
Sincerely.

ever watch doctor who? well, silence are a type of creature that kind of look like slendermen but... if you see one, as soon as you look away you forget you ever saw it. soo... people wanting to count how many times they saw them marked themselves with a marker to count them. they looked a bit like that.

SLENDERMAN IS TERRIFYING.
I've seen a couple episodes of Doctor Who, I'm gonna try and watch a whole bunch this MArch Break cause I know I'm missing out.

ive seen more than most people and ive not even seen a tenth of them all... it started in the 1960s XD
but if ya mean the modern series, which is the 9th - 11th doctor (which is all most people seem to know exist, for some reason) yeah, watch them. they are awesome. the silence isnt until near the end of the 11th doctor's series (well, its still on the 11th doctor, but there wont be any new ones for awhile since they film them all before releasing any, so for now its the end)
but yeah... oddly enough the silence arent based on slendermen at all, but rather the scream (painting by edvard munch) but they sure do remind me of them... i gotta say, i really do enjoy creepypastas of all types. even herobrine...

On the forearm, right below the elbow so it can't be seen because of the long sleeve. I switched on the belly because it's warming up and it'll be time for T-shirts soon. Don't want anyone seeing that, I'm not doing it for the attention.

I've thought about drawing a guy holding out his arms to his friends, saying "See? Clean.", while a metaphorical smile cut into his face Joker-style bleeds freely down his face. It'd be titled "I'm fine."
Can't bring myself to put it on paper beyond miniature sketches. Low skill level and wanting to do it justice and all.

Thanks. It occurred to me when I thought about ignored depression as either being suicide or death due to negligence. The wounds bleed freely though the person imagine's and says they're healing.

Excellent statement to make people more aware. Why people assume that people only cut on the wrists is beyond me. For the most part people who do hurt themselves do it in spots that people wont see, because they don't want them to see.

That's still self-harm Some suggestions I've gotten are drawing on my skin where I want to cut with red marker, making a glitter jar and using it, and laying on my back on an exercise ball. Also, everyone tells me to exercise but who the hell feels like exercising when they want to cut themselves.

Yeah I used to draw when I felt like doing it too but then the stuff I drew only made me more and more depressed so that didn't really work out like I thought it did ;o;
Maybe i'll grow out of it some day

This is very meaningful. I have a friend who does all sorts, some things that make her feel better, some that don't. She has self~harmed, made herself sick, exercised and pushed her body to such extents that she has asthma attacks, or coughs up blood. I don't understand her, but I always try to accept her, as acceptance is the first step towards understanding, isn't it? And even if I may never be able to fully understand what goes on in her head or why she does these things, I hope to always be by her side, and care for her more than anybody else.

That's so wonderful of you to stick by her. I know it's hard not understanding, a lot of people have basically abandoned me because they don't know what's going on so it means a lot to me when people just stick around and try to help. Is she getting help?

I have no rights to tell you or your friend what to do, but I think that instead of just accepting "the way she is", you should help her...She probably has problems to do that, and she found a bad what to deal with them.

ThePeanutButterfly In reply to Teknibaal [2012-02-28 17:32:56 +0000 UTC]
Oh yes, I understand what you mean. She isn't whole inside ~ she is seeing many psychologists, homeopathists etc, but a lot of the things that bother her are things that no~one else can do anything about. It's all inside her. So I really appreciate your thoughts. I always try my hardest to support her, but I know that outside help is often best. I haven't known her very long, so first I'm by first earning their full and deep trust, as that's the only real way you can only really get someone to listen to you. I love her very much <3

This is amazing. I had a friend who used to self-harm and I really didn't know how to help her, although thankfully she's stopped now. I remember that teachers used to tell us that we had to let an adult know, but it just isn't that simple in reality. I think that this is such a meaningful piece and it's wonderful that your bringing attention to such a big issue, thank you <3

It can be really hard to help someone with something you don't understand, just letting them know you're there for them is really nice though. Some of my friends have kind of abandoned me, so I appreciate those who just stay with me even when they don't know what to do.
Thank you.
