Did a sidekick character to the Golden-age DC character Shining Knight after getting ‘star girl: the lost children” TPB for Christmas and instantly fell in love with the ‘lost kids’ sidekicks of the golden age heroes and wanted to do a sidekick for a golden age hero that never had one and came up with ‘Squire’-a young teen who was inspired by the exploits of shining knight and eventually became his assistant and sidekick.
*I wanted to keep his costume reminiscent of shining knight yet add my own touches here no there. I went with a collapsible Bo staff and not a shield as I felt it was more ‘young warrior’ vibe and not be a lethal weapon, similar to Gabrielle from Xena warrior Princess.
