Description
This is version of [link] with some effects added and changes in how you interact with itEffects inspired by Flight404 [link]
Controls
First box is maximal ball count. If there is more on stage then balls start to break on collisions.
Second box is minimal ball count. If there is less then some are created at borders.
Third box is created ball speed. IF set to 0 then balls are created under the cursor. If set higher then they are shot from cursor position with set speed. Be careful as too much energy in system makes explosions big
Move mouse to give it a direction. Click to create/shoot balls from the mouse
P.S: Will need to add some dumping as adding too many balls leads to complete madness and lags
Update
Fixed bug with balls disappearing while mouse button is pressed and reappearing when it is released.
Also how balls are removed was fixed.

Cool!! Cant wait until its out!! Bones looks awesome!!!
So does the new project panel and all the other cool stuff, like 3d tools... gonna have lots of fun with it!!

Seems like it. Still Flash CS4 won't be true 3D editor as it will not have such things like cameras and different views but I have bunch of ideas to try

yep.. its more like a preset skew tool than a 3d tool...
but it will be fun

I have one guess that it will be possible to edit 3D models in Flash CS4 using one small and simple trick in designer. I suppose it will be one of my first tests in CS4

Awesome effect. I dunno if my (work) computer is good or if this si really optimized, but it takes a lot to make this go slow.

Well on my work 2Ghz it takes some 500-700 balls to go slow. Though if many big collisions happen then it may go slower faster

No entire one and with some huge changes to Flash CS4 in designer perspective. Some great changes for programmers too. You will see them soon. I think I will even restart few older projects latter including new features. Considering other products like Photoshop I know not much. There is this Hydra which is hardware accelerated filter scripting language. So people write scripts on this Hydra and you can sue them then in Flash or Photoshop I think I will be making some from time to time
Then for some reason there will support for flash files in Photoshop CS4 but I don't really understand what that means
Just heard of
BTW I saw cool video of one Flash CS4 feature. Have you played spore? Or at least deigned or saw how creatures are designed there?

Well if there is such thing as Bones(rather inverse kinematics) available for designers in Flash CS4. Basically allows to add constraints to animations and some usage of those look like Spore editor but for 2D vectors Like you drawn some weird figure. Added few bones to it and then animate/deform it using those bones
At least it sometimes looks like that in videos

Looking more at it, I think you should make it bigger By this, I mean it looks cooler when you're zoomed in, and the balls are larger.

Very cool.

Yeah... Means you got pretty much energy in to the system They are especially large at head to head collision

After a bit of holding down the mouse in 1 direction, balls would suddenly disappear. After letting go, tons of balls would show up on the left side of the screen...then the sparks....XD! Entire screen is yellow now.

wonderwhy-ER In reply to ssjskipp [2008-09-30 19:39:11 +0000 UTC]
Well dissapiriance is caused by max ball limit. Though there is little bug with how many because of few things. Will add separate counter latter to be able to do it right. And I actually saw this bug with them showing up left but didn't found the cause yet. So there will be upgrades

what an amazing feedback system!
over time, there is an net energy gain which results in crazy patterns of explosions, that's an interesting natural system.

wonderwhy-ER In reply to lyc [2008-09-30 14:05:08 +0000 UTC]
Well was unable to find flaws in my formulas. Sometimes system looses energy sometimes it gains it. I will add dumping parameter latter.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
lyc In reply to wonderwhy-ER [2008-10-02 06:29:07 +0000 UTC]
*damping parameter i wasn't implying there's a flaw in the formula, but when doing numerical methods you always have to reemember (and try to account for) the fact the computations are being done with finite precision, and usually not analytically (eg. when solving differential eqs one usually doesn't use higher than 6th or 7th order methods). at this stage knowledge of cancellation error, specials etc. becomes essential; here's a good reference: [link]
so yeah, use 4th order (globally) runge-kutta and try to follow energy-conserving curves in phase space.
