Description
After rewiring the console to transmit a message for Auto's eyes only, Captain McCrea picked up the holo-projector, smirking, "Who's Powerless Now?", to himself and laughing as he turned it on. He carefully rewound the footage copied from E.v.e.'s memory until he found what he was looking for: a still image of Wall.e holding up the plant, just before E.v.e. scanned it. He paused the footage on that frame, then told the computer to transmit a message to Auto. On the bridge, Auto was distracted, watching the rogues fight the SECUR-Ts via a live feed. Increasingly panicking as the rogues defeated wave after wave of stewards, he almost didn't notice the Captain's Message transmitter activating and displaying its title card. The feed changed to Captain McCrea... holding the plant? Still trying to watch the rogues fight and come up with another plan, Auto failed to check if any of the holo-projectors were on. Captain McCrea then began taunting him, saying, "Look what I've got Auto- the plant! You want it? Come and get it, blinky!" Auto, pulling himself away just as the last of the SECUR-Ts were killed off, responded, "NO- NOT POSSIBLE.", and then, panicking even more, forgot to send GO-4 down to the Captain's Quarters before heading down there himself.
Auto popped out of the hole in the ceiling, confusedly looking around, and querying, "Captain? Captain?" He didn't notice McCrea hiding in front of the portrait of himself until he shouted and lunged right out of his chair, grabbing Auto by two of his remaining good spokes. Auto immediately tried to retract back up into the bridge, but the Captain was too strong- he was gripping Auto with iron fists. As Auto retracted, McCrea briefly got stuck in the hole, Auto commanding him, "Let Go!" Captain McCrea shouted right back, "NOT SO FAST YOU MANIAC WHEE- UGH!", as Auto tried to punch him in the eyes with his free spoke. Auto then accidentally pulled McCrea out of the hole, and fully onto the bridge. Captain McCrea held on tightly as Auto tried to throw him off. Then, he managed to climb up the front of Auto, blocking his (already impaired) vision. In response, Auto ran around his track to the opposite side of the bridge, accidentally taking Captain McCrea closer to the Lido Deck, and the console McCrea wanted to access. GO-4 suddenly popped out of his alcove, and seeing his (already badly damaged) master in distress, immediately hissed at Captain McCrea, and raised his epaulets, recklessly charging at the struggling duo. Neither McCrea nor Auto noticed GO-4 trying to enter the fray, and Captain McCrea accidentally kicked GO-4 out the window. GO-4 fell 10 stories, crashing into the floor just short of the pool, and exploding into a myriad of broken pieces on impact. Up on the bridge, McCrea and Auto were still struggling. McCrea was now in control, swinging Auto closer and closer to the console like a pendulum. Auto kept trying to move away from the console, but McCrea was simply swinging him around too strongly. Eventually, Captain McCrea got within reach of the "activate Holo-Detector" button, and slammed his open hand down on top of it, laughing as the Holo-Detector activated, and the Lido Deck lit up.
Holo-displays projecting the stylized image of a plant appeared at every junction, designated hoverchair pathways lit up in green on the floor of the Lido Deck, and the deck itself gained bright white lighting with green accents. The passengers were largely caught unawares as their hoverchairs suddenly popped inflatable helmets onto them, and started automatically moving towards the Lido Deck. Thousands of Hoverchairs streamed in via multiple entrances, most of which had been forgotten about and had been unused in years. The passengers who lived on the Lido deck were evacuated from their quarters, being shunted down ramps and towards the center of the Lido Deck, where they would have the best view of the Holo-Detector... if they weren't sleeping. John and Mary ended up near the Axioms infant passengers, who were all wailing at the tops of their lungs as a desperate NANN-E tried to calm them down. Overhead, E.v.e. and Wall.e were rapidly flying towards the Holo-Detector, Wall.e ready to throw the plant into the Holo-Detector. E.v.e. let off a triumphant roar as they sped over the Hoverchairs. The sudden loud roar intimidated Auto, who realized that McCrea, Wall.e, and E.v.e. were about to win- and he would be toast. In a last desperate throw of the die, Auto spun, finally throwing Captain McCrea off of himself, and then began moving the ships center of artificial gravity- towards the side of the ship.
