Description
The Axiom began to list, and then tilt to one side as Auto began moving the center of the ships artificial gravity. Wall.e and E.v.e. sideswiped the Holo-Detector as it began tilting away from them. As they sideswiped the Holo-Detector, Wall.e accidentally dropped the plant, which went skidding off the Buy N' Large logo platform. E.v.e. droped Wall.e next to the Holo-Detector and flew after the plant. She narrowly missed grabbing it as it skidded off the platform and fell onto the deck. E.v.e. continued to chase the plant as it slid down the next platform, again trying to grab it. Auto began tilting the ship faster in response, sending the plant sliding into the crowd. E.v.e. began frantically searching for it, meanwhile the passengers, helpless to do much, began to slide out of their hoverchairs, and towards the side of the ship. The passengers began trying to help prevent each other from sliding to the side of the ship as E.v.e. continued her frenzied search. On the bridge, Captain McCrea watched helplessly as Auto punched the Holo-Detectors control button with his good spoke. Wall.e started feeling around the outside of the Holo-Detector as it began to close and retract back into its platform. Getting an idea, Wall.e then got as close to the Holo-Detector as she could, and braced herself. As she predicted, the Holo-Detector got stuck trying to close on top of her, and Wall.e was able to keep it open while she waited for E.v.e. to come back with the plant.
E.v.e. was still searching for the plant, having last seen it getting caught up in the large amount of passengers that were now sliding towards one side of the Lido Deck, and piling up at that edge. She reached the pile of people and began looking for it, repeatedly querying, "Plant?", as she tried to find it. It was a Herculean Task, as the amount of people piled up against the side of the Lido Deck was already quite large, and more people got caught up in the pile by the second. E.v.e. quickly narrowed down the general location of the plant to a specific part of the pile, and started searching through it. Below her, John and Mary slid into the pile with the Axioms infant passengers in their arms. The infants were now giggling and laughing raucously after their long slide, momentarily distracting E.v.e. from her search. Just as she was about to resume sniffing out the plant, someone screamed, "LOOK OUT!"
E.v.e. turned around and watched in horror as the people mover, which had shut down in the worst possible location, tipped over, and then fell off its tracks, landing with a deafening crash, and then rapidly sliding towards the passengers, running over countless hoverchairs as it did so. Wall.e also watched the people mover sliding towards the passengers from the Holo-Detector in horror. E.v.e. shot out from the side of the Lido Deck, and crashed into the people mover, using her tremendous strength to push back on the multi-ton machine, and slowing it to a halt before it could crash into the passengers. In the heat of the moment, E.v.e.'s alpha mode activated itself, and her wings automatically spread and began beating, causing the passengers to all start looking at E.v.e., pointing at her, and murmuring in awe. Then someone pointed at the Holo-Detector and shouted in amazement. Wall.e had activated her own alpha mode, and was now standing upright, pushing the Holo-Detector into a fully open position under her own power. On the bridge, both Captain McCrea and Auto watched as Wall.e held the Holo-Detector open. The rest of the rogues began cheering from a ledge on the side of the Lido Deck as Wall.e, though still wounded from Auto's tazer, held the Holo-detector up in a defiant deadlock. E.v.e. began trying to shove the people mover back up the deck, yelling, "WALL.E!" as if to encourage her. The passengers began to chant "WALL.E! WALL.E! WALL.E!", further encouraging her to hold up the Holo- Detector. Buoyed by the encouraging shouts, Wall.e began to feel as if victory was within her and E.v.e.'s grasp, and the Axiom would soon return home after all.
