Description
A purposed Night Fury created by Looks To The Moon. Raingoggles was engineered to act as a messenger for her and retrieve errant and malfunctioning overseers. They'll do both jobs for any iterator that requests their services though, and Looks To The Moon has been known to let other iterators borrow them. They're more visibly modified than most other purposed dragons, bearing a suite of adaptions to increase their proficiency in aquatic environments and therefore, the amount of environments they can comfortably traverse. The most notable of these are a set of artificial gills which allows them to breathe underwater for a limited amount of time and a sail which replaces the spines that they otherwise would have had on the top of their tail. Additionally, Raingoggles has artificial limbs due to a genetic malfunction. Looks To The Moon accidentally deleted the genes coding for the Night Furys limbs (excepting the wings) during one of the grow cycles, and so made a set of advanced prosthetics to compensate for the loss. Raingoggles also has a removable backpack/saddle which can be used to transport smaller creatures and store key items such as overseer eyes, food, and data pearls. They also often have active overseers nearby, typically guiding them towards their current destination. It is unknown how or why Raingoggles wound up with wing claws- Looks To The Moon theorizes that this is simply a genetic mutation related to the sesamoid claws sported by some dragon species. They are slightly smaller than the average Fury, but to compensate for their underwhelming size and weak plasma blast, they are unusually fast, extremely athletic, and hyperactive.
