Description
This dragon has an interesting history... it was originally a book dragon which was said to have razor sharp wings, hence the name. This dragon lived primarily in Mountain Ranges, and was extremely hostile to vikings in the books... to the point of being untrainable. Then, it was adapted into Rescue Riders and became... almost unrecognizable compared to its book counterpart...
The issues I had with the original design were:
- The head looked too big as well as misshapen... How does this dragon walk without falling flat on its face every other step?
- The spines looked more disorganized than a Deadly Nadder having a bad spine day...
- The color combination used on the original wasn't too bad, but it was kind of thrown off by their usage of a yellow underbelly...
The redesign went in a different direction from the shows version... it's a Night Fury- Deadly Nadder Hybrid now. The spines are organised mainly like a Night Furies, but without the twin rows of spines towards the end of the tail, and with an extra row of spines running along the length of the underside of the tail. The pattern was also switched out for a mainly Deadly Nadder-esque pattern with mainly Night Fury colors. This dragon now has a unique blast- a plasma blast surrounded by a halo of Magnesium based sparks. The Relentless Razorwing can fling its spines with pinpoint accuracy, which is enhanced by its Night Fury-esque vision. There is one slight problem... it has a blind spot directly in front of its nose. This dragon can also track scents as well as a Deadly Nadder, and can recognize a given individual from their scent alone. The Razorwing can fly almost as fast and as adeptly as the Night Fury, but it is slightly hindered in this area by its long, razor sharp spines. These spines are sharp enough that they're often used to make spearheads, and they can hold an edge almost as well as metal can. That said, the Razorwings spines do frequently break. Broken spines are quickly shed and new ones regrown. Interestingly, this dragon has an "alpha state" like the Night Fury, but it can only hold this state for a short duration of time, hence it preferring to instead broker deals with alphas and serve as their lieutenants... if they can't win the fight for the metaphorical throne quickly enough. This is especially the case if the dragon knows its fighting an alpha whos much bigger than it is.
