Description
Raven jumping over the A-frame to go retrieve the dumbbell. Schutzhund day is amazing. I'm on a little break and then we head off to the club once more to do the bite work practise for two dogs, a GSD and a Beauceron.Raven here is a 3 year old Beauceron, he's really amazing!

Nice dog! I cant tell exactly, are his tan points smutty or is it just the shadows on his paws? (Though all of his tan points look reduced)

Spectacular shot! I'm especially loving the contrast between the dog and the background, as well as that stunning action capture!

I've been researching this breed to buy and I knew the moment I saw the picture that he was a Beauceron. They are so gorgeous. So thank you for this picture. ^^

beaucerons are gooorgeous <3
how much steeper is the schutzhund a-frame from an agility a-frame?

Yeeees!
We basically use the same types of A-frames, however the schutzhund A-frames are set higher than our agility A-frames.

Went to a schutzhund trial today and took a look at the a-frame, they don't have slats on the bottoms! Surprised me a bit, must be difficult for the heavier dogs who don't have as much drive to propel themselves up there!

Ah really? We have slats on ours during training, and I know ive seen some on trial A-frames.

There's slats on the top section, and probably in training they have a different one, but from what I could tell it was just one of the ones that have sand covering for traction/grip.

hmm that's odd. Was this a trial, a practise or a club level trial? Maybe it depends on the clubs.

It was a trial, but the a-frame wasn't in use when I was there, but I didn't see any other a-frame.

Well, that's odd I'm guessing it chances between countries/clubs.

Are you in the United States or in Europe?

Then that's probably it, I live in the United States so the club probably has different guidelines for the build of the obstacles.

Love the Harlekin Beaucerons too.
I hope I have a enough time in the future to give a beauceron a home and make a Schutzhund training.
It's weird to read a german word (Schutzhund) from a swedish person in english... xD
Did you know why it is in german or is it swedish too?

I just call "Harlequin" merles, it's the same coat type
I always use "Schutzhund" because that's the sport xD It's mostly the same in every language

Interesting I didn't know that it is the same word in every language
