I recently retrieved some of my old work files from when I was still with IFS so I decided to share some of them here with you guys.This is one of a number of plate illustrations I did for Osprey Publishing's Osprey Adventure series. This one in particular is for their fictional Vampire Hunter's Guide book, which I had quite a bit of fun with as got to visualize different Vampire hunters from different cultures around the world hunting their prey.
Modern day vampire hunters (one of them a priest) from a covert organization called the Special Action Unit Expansion (SAU) interrogating a captured vampire in a secure facility. These hunters wear modified bomb disposal suits and UV headlights for protection. Done in 2013.

Interesting take on vampire slayers here.
Though, I have to wonder what good those suits would do against a vampire's overall strength.

If they're covered in high-grade silver, a vampire might have trouble even touching them, which seems like a good counter to physical strength. Beyond that, the suits are impact- and cut-resistant, so they keep you from getting punched, stabbed, or shot.

That might not save them if the vampires find OTHER means to get around that armor and knock one of these slayers out.

I agree; the suits have limited usefulness. But even within those limits, they provide a decent passive defense, making it harder for vampires to land a lethal surprise hit. That's worth something.

Don't forget that vampires had strength above anything a human has...they could just as easily heft a car at these guys.

when it comes to vampire physical strength, I go with the "strength of 20 men" idea as a minimum.
So I say 10 tons or a little more

Plus no one said vamps can't carry handguns. With their abilities, the average vampire
might be a better marksman than the average human

A sword strike from a vampire would easily sever limbs or heads as easily as slicing through butter.

they could also wear bulletproof body armor that'd be too heavy for a human to wear.

Fantastic art! Those guys look fully armored and equipped to do the job! This picture really makes me wish for an a X-Com style game were instead of aliens, you you command a unit of elite soldiers to face and fight supernatural beings that threaten humanity.
I got to say the faceless soldiers look quite intimidating. What is the hunter on the left holding? Is it holy water?

This is very impressive, has a very spacey feel and reminds me of some older movies or video games i used to watch; never seen to much like this before , you got great talent in ya!
