Of course I had to enter the Kubo contest haha

Don't really wanna get into any details, but I've had to deal with certain things in life that I feel nobody should ever have to. There've been a lot of times when it seemed like there was some kind of inescapable darkness around me filled to the brim with all sorts of spooks and boogeymen. It gets tough dealing with such heavy stuff over such a long period of time, and I can only imagine the impact that'd have on a kid like Kubo.
But despite the past hardships and the ones that are sure to come in the future, there's always a sliver of light there too. There's always just enough hope to give us solace and strength. Sometimes it's in humor, sometimes it's in art, sometimes it's in animated movies about kids who are, like, really good at paper folding. Whatever it is, it's our light. It's where we can stand tall and proud and ready for battle. No matter what's in the darkness, we're always powerful in that light.

Did not make it into the semi-finalists, but I'm in awe at the art that did. Super fantastic job, ya'll.
