It had been a long campaign, full of many twists and turns, but the journey ended right where Michelle had always known it would, at the Inaugural Gala after her husband had been sworn in. She stood in her elegant gala dress, a gown that let her stand as the graceful pinnacle of femininity. She smiled as she stood beside her darling husband, the newly elected President that hoped to change America for the better. So many had expected him to lose, but towards the end of his campaign, the real turning point that surprised his critics was the large amount of support he gained from voting women aged 18-45. Many articles and TV show hosts claimed that this support came mostly because of her. After the birth of her daughter, many had claimed that she was a strong female presence, an icon that a woman can help improve her community while also keeping house. That was one of the focuses that she would bring up during the campaign trail interviews. She wanted women to know that a strong Domestic life can positively improve the Public community. She also would talk about birth rates being on a slow decline for years now and the strength of America's future will come with the generations that come next. She smiled to her husband at the thought, remembering a promise he had made on the trail that they would have the first birth in the White House since 1915. This promise she certainly looked forward to helping him keep.

As the Inaugural Gala wore on and the guests had all been greeted, Michelle politely excused herself. While she was happy to celebrate their Party's victory, a more important matter required her attention, their baby girl. However, she didn't mind leaving the party once her wifely duties had been completed and surpassed. This night was for her husband, for the Party, and it would be the first of many celebrations for the future of the country.
