I'm officially done with finals and my second year at Columbus College of Art and Design. WOOOOOO. Anywho, I thought I'd treat myself to some free time art. One week til the new Godzilla comes out and I figured I'd do some fanart...I'm in a giant monster/ Kaiju mood.~I don't know why the resolution on this is so damn small...-_-....idk if someone at my school messed with the scanner settings when I put this in or what but eehhhh well.

It's a nice 9x12 sketchbook and I got it for less than 10 bucks...easily the best art supply I bought this year.

Ah yes, toned sketchbooks make adding highlights pop and make the shadows seem even darker.

I love the stippling as well as the way you did his scales/spines on the side of his face. the little hints of red break up the dark's very nicely. Hehe, I'm lucky, I get to see it a few days early. my BF works at a theater Β so I get to go into a team screening before official release date. I'm super exited to see the film. Godzilla is my childhood favorite.

Ah thanks!! IDK why the resolution didn't save at a larger size so you can see the inking better...oh well. You lucky poop. I wish I had the privilege to see it early where I live.

One reason I always check to see if my scanner remains at the 300DPI resolution. The shit scanner software always resets back to 72DPI. I can see them very well actually 
Yeah, sadly all the new trailers spoiled "most" of the film. :/Β

Usually when I scan things they always come out within the 1000's range by default. I did this in a 9x12 sketchbook so I was a little surprised when the final JPEG didn't come out that large and you can't see the ink work up close like the other artwork in my gallery. Ehhhh I'll have to keep that in mind next time I scan things even though I won't be using the same scanner after today for a few months.
I keep myself away from spoilers, especially on facebook they overwhelm my newsfeed like crazy.

They need to stop leaking spoilers and other outside information though. like, ITS ONE WEEK AWAY. They did this with The Desolation of Smaug too and it's kind of annoying me they can't just save all that crap til a week after opposed to a week before.
