Description
Upgraded to a screen drawing tablet a few days ago and decided to hit three birds with one stone:
- Breaking in the new tablet.
- Practicing drawing feet.
- Practicing pose/gesture.
Took a couple hours and I had to do quite a bit of tweaking on the tablet settings, but the results speak for themselves.
And now we have a new character. Meet Lainey. A sporty girl who enjoys a good fight. Watch out for the roundhouse kick!

Pose 1 - far left - is great! I love the energy of the pose and those drops of sweat flinging off them from their exertion. And that’s a really good fist clench.
Pose 2 - the second from the left - looks the most strange to me out of the bunch. On first glance, the legs look twisted? I went looking for videos on YouTube to compare and discovered: the left leg is twisted exactly right but maybe too flat against the ground, the torso could be leaning back farther to balance, while the pelvis needs to be turned more to fully extend the leg. I was surprised to see the right leg is twisted about right but should be rising and also bent slightly at the knee to bring all the force of the hit to the top of the foot, not falling like a karate chop on the side of the foot.
Pose 3 - middle top - I like the idea and that hair flip looks really cool, but the character’s lower body is tilting a little too high for a nice smooth vault over the side. Their body should be as close to the wall as possible so they don’t tumble forward onto their back.
Pose 4 - middle bottom - is a great resting pose while drinking water, everything looks good although their left leg looks a little shortened by the perspective.
Pose 5 - far right - is of course excellent, warm and friendly!
