Boy did I finish this in good time...A spur of the moment trade with ~JeweledFaith of her character Silent Flash. You know, this started out really simple. A nicely shaded lineart that was going to have a simple BG. Well, I colored it like that at the least, but then I started messing with the lines, then I had to do more cause it didn't look right...eventually I deleted the outer lines and made it look as if I'd painted it realistically from the start...did it work? Maybe...
If nothing else, I am really proud of my background. ^^ The sky, clouds and mountains are all painted, and I actually LIKE how the grass came out ^^
Huzzah for experimenting and whatnot

I love, love, love the energy in this image. I can literally visualize the roll of Flash's muscles beneath his coat, and the wind billowing through his mane and tail. There's just so much power being emanated! That honestly takes some real raw talent to be able to capture; great freaking job doing so! O:
I'm not too crazy about the grass myself; it seems motionless in comparison to the subject, but honestly - that's such a small detail that it doesn't really matter. I can tell how much effort you put into the background: it's absolutely beautiful. The color selection I could just rave about for days on end. (:

Okay i am a huge horse lover, I love animals but especially wolves and horses. When i saw this i thought no way that is drawn, it looks like it as just a photo then enhanced. You make the muscles on this horse really show, making it look realistic. I absolutly love it. The colors go well together, and the coloring on the horse is impecible. Making this absolutly stunning. The background looks like a real sunset, and real grass. The mane and tail on the horse show that there is wind, making it look realistic. Keep up the good Work

Gorgeous.
The subtle shine on her coat is very realistic. It also isn't too harsh, which adds to the movement; the highlights would be continuously changing because she's moving.
I'm a little unsure about the crest coming towards the withers, like... perhaps that should be a little lighter? It's very good, and I can see the shading of the way the mane waves, but it gets light right before the crest, then there is a little dark stuff, where is is lighter up along the neck. I'm nitpicking, only because it says "advanced critique". I still think this is a beautiful piece.
That was the wimpiest little bit of critique, because it's hard for me to critique this! That was all that bothered me.

I love how this horse has both power and grace. I'm not too sure about the muscles on his front and the way his mane flows (which makes it seem the mane goes on beyond his neck). I think the sky is gorgeous, too. And I like how you managed to insert completely unnatural elements without making them look unnatural.
