NOTE: PLEASE READ ==> Lol. I'm flattered, but I don't have the time, patience, or fortitude to look at your OCs and tell you how to fix them. xD Just read up on the tutorial and compare your OC with what we're saying.Full view to really be able to read it. VERY TEXT HEAVY.
A collaborative effort between myself and my good friend *Goldenkitsune-Queen
This here, boys and girls, is how to make a decent, My Little Pony OC, while keeping away from the things that make them total Marysues. We see far too many examples of just plain BAD characters, and so, we made this. Use the information here as a sort of guideline when creating your OC.
I know it's very text heavy, but the info is good and something to really keep in mind when making your OC.
I did most of the writing, with a few pointers and much help from *Goldenkitsune-Queen and a few others in the group I run.
*Goldenkitsune-Queen is responsible for the wonderful illustrations and, again, a big help on the text based content as well.

My OC is an Earth Pony named Drama King(tho he isn't on dA tho), he lives up to his name, uses acting acting to entertain and get out of slippery situations, has a sister named Hazel Shine, a griffon "student" named Quill, and a strong disliking of manual labor :3 he also has a crush on Twilight Sparkle, and even though it's not likely they'll get together, he likes her just the same, but doesn't shy away from impressing her when given an opportunityΒ

Alicorn OCs are OK if they have a good reason to be an alicorn. It's just that alot of Alicorn OCs don't have that.

THAT WAS ADORABLE AND GREAT! I made my OC! Her name is Yukini Locoa, and she loves the internet, and drawing like me c: Her cutie mark is a mustache cuz she's kind of a hipster, and she wears nerd glasses, and also has short hair... but I haven't figured out her color palette yet! Deer oc: ok
Pony with zebra or dot or other type of coat : NO!
(yes, you can put like a dot or two on his/her feets or flank but don't cover the entire body)

What if the pony is half-zebra? Wouldn't a few stripes be acceptable then?
Also, why not spots, if the intention is to resemble the appearance of flea bitten or dapple?

If it's half zebra, it's ok, it can have stripes but normal coloured stripes, not purple stripes
And spots are ok as long as they aren't in excess

God bless you for making this post! Honestly, everyone in the fandom
needs to place their OC side-by-side with the 'wthdude test' and see if
their pony fits the criteria. I personally think the first step on this sheet
should be "don't even contemplate creating an alicorn!", but I think I'm
just being stingy @ n @. Honestly though, this is an excellent guide and
I'm excited to say that my OC passed! Hip-hip hurray!
