I had the same idea only its 2 bladed and has a extended handle to be also used a a scissor(lightsaber scissor...)

And I have seen a lightsaber flail.

Well, that is an interesting idea to say the least, but, it just seems like it would be a little... I'm gonna go with superfluous and unwieldy. It'd be almost impossible wield it in theflashy manner in which the Jedi tend to fight without dismembering yourself, therefore, I'll have to disagree with what your little movie says.
