Loved the show but I always thought it was a dumb design. Why have thin hangar doors at the front of your battlewagon where you are expected to be hit the most???? Personally I liked the little cruisers, like the Borealis.

Well, I think the answer lies in whomever thought that Captain Marcus was qualified to lead in times of war. He was clearly unqualified to think of long term strategy, nor could he properly assess his enemies. His decisions nearly cost the humans the war.

I will also add that the Resolute was not meant to be a front line warship, but a carrier that had very powerful weapons. Remember that Marcus ordered the exo cruisers to full speed, knowing that the front line support ships would be incapable of keeping up, costing half the fleets firepower. The way the designers would have likely envisioned the Resolute fighting would be that the support cruisers would keep any enemy away from the Resolute, while the Resolute would fly parallel to the fleet, providing support and e-frames as it went, rarely ever putting more than one side of the ship in direct line of fire. Marcus used the ship as a battleship, wasting its potential.
