Description
Apparently, back when the Shadow Chronicles was being developed, the Ark Angel, the ship that our heroes end up commandeering to escape from the Haydonites, was conceived as a transformable "Shadow Dimension Colony Ship". This concept was of course dropped in favor of the non-transformable version we ended up with. Somewhere along the line, an image of that version came out, and not too long ago I came across it on one of the Robotech fan pages on facebook. Seeing it, I knew that I had to model it. So here's the version I ended up with. It's a combination of the original image, combined with the final version, with tweaks from Chiletrek 's version of the final design. I based it on the idea of a 4 part ship. The ship, as a whole is transformable, but can separate into 4 distinct parts. The two Daedalus style drop ships can separate and operate independently, or can link and become a medium destroyer. The main battle section from the main Sekiton Cannon to the bridge makes up main body of the ship, while the colony section, made from the waist of the ship down, can separate and either engage in combat, fold away or land on a planet. I'll show some pictures of the individual sections soon.Related content

Hello:
It is great to finally see your version of the ship completed! . I know the feeling of watching a design and to have to make an own version of it . Congratulations!
Also, when you make the pics with the individual sections, will you add specifications?

Those can be tricky, but one way to do it is with pixels and calculing proportions. Because we know the official lenght of the Ark Angel, and you can know how many pixels would have in one pic (top or side view of your model) and then you can use that info to calculate the sizes for each bit

The official lenght of the ship is 2570 meters, so it is indeed huge! So it is likely the assault ships would be in the ballpark of 500+ meters... but that is just a fast guesstimation
