The best part is, the SDF-3 was meant to be the flagship and the main pillar of the entire Pioneer Expedition, and now there is a ship more levels higher. Very nice

That is something I read in the old Amalgaverse website, and that I agreed once I completed my own version: The Ark Angel is lightly-armed for it's size. But it makes sense due to it's role, although it has quite an amazing fighter support to compensate.

Yeah, I see the ship being escorted by a small fleet of defensive ships, exactly the same as a Macross colony fleet, but with a heavier fighter presence due to known threats of the Invid and Zentreadi fleets. If the Ark Angel needs to get involved, it has the firepower to do it, but since the Sekiton Cannon isn’t as powerful as the Reflex Cannon, it should not be relied upon to do the same devastation. That said, it’s no slouch either.

That is soething wanted to explore in detail, how would Reobotech Colonization Fleets would look like, The Ark Angel would be the core of the fleet, the Amalgaverse website said it should have 4 Garfish class ships as escort. I would add it 1-2 Factory ships ( REF Nergal factory ship pic 01 ), but if a heavier punch is needed, I would add at least 1 Shimakaze class Gunship
