New picture of the SDF-1 alongside a Robotech Masters Mothership. Very close to scale. The SDF-1 measures 1200 meters long, while the Mothership is 7260 meters.Related content

The Robotech Masters' mothership look smaller than what we are used to see it... but that must be because the Southern Cross' ships are so much smaller than the SDF-1.
I wish I can make my own Masters' ship soon.

It may also be the angle that the camera is at, it makes the SDF-1 look larger than it actually is compared to the Mothership. The Tokugawa is actually not much smaller than the SDF-1, at least in terms of length. It is 1120 meters, while the Tristar's are 470 meters long. My Mothership is also a bit taller than the official numbers, but since I like it, I'm not changing it for now. The Mothership is not an easy design to model, but given your skills, it won't take you long.

I reckon that, sometimes, 3d rendering can be quite tricky when showing ship scales due to perspective

We see the Tokugawa a second time in the last episode, but I don't think we see any others. The Banshee's and Tristars were clearly the majority of the fleet. I think it was implied that the Tokugawa's were an older ship that was largely phased out after the SDF-3 left or harder to build than Banshee's and Tristars, so only reserved for flagships or long-range missions.
