Here I go, trying out for another RP group again, haha. I've honestly been eyeing this group for a while, and when I saw that there was an opening this month I just couldn't resist!

Dunk Tank Attendant- Matthias doesn't think he really has any fancy tricks to show off or anything, so He's decided to do something he's sure he can handle in the circus. He's in charge of attending to the dunk tank attraction. With a warm smile, he collects money, hands out the balls, and gives the winners a small prize to take home.

Wish/Backfire:

Matthias wished to be cured of his blindness. He blamed his condition for losing the woman he fell in love with and for being separated from his family at the circus. When Mr. Dark offered him a wish, he felt as this was the obvious choice to make.

Matt was cured, and he can see perfectly inside the confines of the Circus. However, as soon as he exits the circus if he looks someone in the eyes he will 'inflict' blindness on them by causing them to immediately black out. The further he is from the circus, the more dangerous this effect becomes. Eventually, his gaze will cause the person he looks at to drop dead. Furthermore, Matt is not immune to this backfire. If he looks into a mirror when he's outside of the circus, he will fall unconscious, if not die, immediately. He couldn't stand the idea of potentially hurting someone he loves, but felt as if he had nowhere else to go if he couldn't stay with his family. He's thankful that Mr. Dark was able to offer him a job at the circus.

Matthias is a very kind, polite young man. His parents taught him that kindness towards others can go a long way, and he wants to be someone who people know they can trust. He's fairly quiet, and a good listener who doesn't mind being there for people when they need to talk about something. Matthias also doesn't like to turn down others when he’s asked to help out. He is intelligent and is willing and quick to learn new things. There needed to be a strong sense of trust between him and his parents growing up, as otherwise, they would have been constantly stressed about his whereabouts. Because of this, He puts priority in keeping the promises he makes and admitting to his mistakes. He does his best to be attentive when others are talking to him, and will often take a moment to form a thoughtful response. He's also very attuned to the world around him. He uses his heightened hearing and the use of psychic help him observe every little detail in a situation. This is a very natural process to him, and he finds it more reliable than using his newfound eyesight. Matthias' parents did everything they could to help their son have a comfortable life, despite his disability. They were always very protective of him and kept a close eye on him growing up. Because of their wealth, it was easier for them to give Matthias all the care he needed. They hired a nanny to care for him when they could not be around, and, when he turned five, they hired a private tutor who specialized in teaching blind children to help him learn. They felt as if this was best, as there wasn’t a school for blind children in their area, and they were worried that their son would be teased or outcasted by his peers for his condition. They wanted their son to have the happiest and most comfortable life possible. Matthias had always been a kind, bright young boy. His tutor was often impressed by how quick he caught on to the subjects she was teaching, as well as his willingness to learn them. He loved being read to, as the descriptions in them seemed so interesting and detailed to him.

When Matthias turned eight years old, his parents decided to surprise him with a gift: the TM Psychic. They heard from a physician friend, Dr. Harding, that by using the move Psychic, many people were more accurately able to sense the world around them. There were risks, of course, and the family was wary at first. Matt was young, and Psychic was a powerful move. They didn’t want their son getting hurt. Dr. Harding offered to help, for a discounted fee of course, as he had worked with many patients young and old who learned the move. As a Gardevoir, he had a full understanding of Psychic and had been using it himself for years. Likewise, as a physician, he would be able to treat Matt immediately if any danger to his health were to arise. He would be able to use his own skills to help train Matthias in the move and provide a safe, controlled environment for Matt to learn under his watch. Matthias’ parents agreed to this, convinced that the benefits this opportunity posed for their son were greater than the risk. With the special training lessons from Dr. Harding, Matthias was able to learn psychic safely over time.

Learning Psychic helped Matthias navigate the world around him with much more ease than previously. The move did not cure his disability, but he was able to use it to sense objects and forms near to him. He used it constantly over the next few years until it became like a new sense to him. By the time he was twelve, he spent much more time out of the manor. His parents honored his requests to go into town. They even started to bring him along to plays, movies, and jazz clubs. Most of his spare time at home was spent listening to music on the family’s record player or spending time outside in the garden. He still wasn’t allowed to venture out of the grounds on his own, but he didn’t mind this at first. He knew his parents had his best interests in mind and was happy enough going out with them.

Over the years, however, he grew a bit antsy. As a growing young man, being cooped up in a house without any friends his age made him feel lonely. He knew that it would be difficult for him to navigate and find his way home in places that were unfamiliar to him. There was a chance for him to become disoriented and lost while alone. Even so, he couldn’t help but be a little downcast when the subject of him going out by himself was brought up then shut down so quickly.

Mr. and Mrs. Lynch noticed their son’s growing dismay and felt at fault for their seventeen-year-old son’s loneliness. They only wanted to protect him from the scrutiny and discrimination he would face in the outside world and meant well keeping him close to home. They realized that perhaps they had been a bit too controlling of him. His happiness had always been their number one priority, and right now they were failing him in this regard. In an attempt to right their mistake while still keeping Matt safe, they turned to Dr. Harding once again. He had two children around Matt’s age: An older son, Robert, and a daughter the same age as Matthias, Elizabeth. They, lightly urged by their father and Matthias’ parents, offered to take Matthias along with them to the jazz club one evening. The three of them ended up having a wonderful time. They had seen each other before when Matt had been training under their father. However, they had never spoken much besides exchanging a few polite words. Matthias impressed the duo with his knowledge on the instruments being played, as well as his ability to recognize them by sound alone, despite being slightly awkward at times. Robert was a bit awkward himself, as he had never been very popular in school. He understood Matt’s struggle and was patient with him. Elizabeth, on the other hand, found Matt’s awkward, kind nature endearing.

The three of them started to spend more time together and eventually became friends. However, The more time he spent with them, the more he started to realize his growing affection for Elizabeth. She was stubborn, thoughtful, and adventurous young lady who was very invested in fashion. He never said anything about his crush, as she had often told him of her dream to be an actress and live a spectacular life full of parties, meeting famous people, and going wherever she pleased. Matt believed he would only hold back this dream.

It wasn’t until Elizabeth announced that she was moving away to live in Unova that Matt decided to confess to her. He didn’t want to be selfish, but he felt as if he had fallen in love with Elizabeth during the two years they had known each other. If she moved away, he would never see her again. A few weeks before she decided to leave, on her 19th birthday, he confessed his feelings.

She sighed and told him that he was a very sweet guy, but she had never seen him in the same way. As he had feared, her dreams of living a more free life were too important to her. Though she didn’t mean any harm by it, she ended off by saying that she just couldn’t be with someone who couldn’t see. He would never be able to keep up with the life she wanted.

This rejection hit Matt hard. He was shocked by how blunt she was and started to spend more and more time locked in his room. Nothing seemed to cheer him up. He listened to music and roamed around in the garden, but even these activities felt hollow to him now. He couldn’t even go out and say goodbye on the day Elizabeth left. His parents did all they could to console him and guide him through his heartbreak, but they knew healing would take time. To help lift his spirits, they decided to put together a family outing just like when he was younger. Fortunately, there was a circus coming to town soon. The pair convinced Matt to join them, as the family had never been to a circus together before.

The day started out enjoyable. Matthias was slightly flustered by the number of people and sounds he picked up, but he couldn’t help but find it fascinating. It was nothing like anything he had ever experienced before. He had fun trying out of the different game stands, and even if he couldn’t see the acts, the sounds of the animals and booming voice of the ringmaster in the big top were exciting to him.

Unfortunately, as the family was preparing to leave the circus, they got caught in a crowd of people leaving the big top and were separated. Matt tried to use all of his senses to find his parents, Calling out to them desperately. but the amount of noise and people made this extremely difficult. To make matters worse, Matt was pushed along by the crowd, disorienting him. By the time he managed to free himself from all the people, he realized that he was completely lost.

He started to panic, asking any moving form he could sense if they could help him. He seemed to be in luck, as a large form approached him and asked what was wrong, and, after Matthias explained the situation, they introduced themselves as Mr. Dark and offered him one wish. Matt was a little confused by this offer, wondering if the person was mocking him. He decided to humor them, however. He took a moment to think the wish over. He realized that wouldn’t have been in this situation at all if he wasn’t blind. He would have been able to keep sights on his parents and find them easier without assistance. Perhaps... if he could see, Elizabeth wouldn’t have rejected him. He and she could have traveled together, spent a life full of adventure together. Maybe, if he could see now, he could still catch up to her and make that a reality. After a small pause, Matthias responded carefully. He asked that if the man really could grant wishes if he would please cure his blindness.

After making his wish, Matthias was able to open his eyes and see for the first time in his life. Ecstatic, he thanked Mr. Dark and immediately searched for his family once again. They weren't as difficult to find now that he could see the two frantic parents looking all over for their lost son. As soon as he heard their voices, he knew they were his family. He ran up and embraced them, telling them that he could see them for the first time. The moment brought the whole family to tears.

The family was so blinded by their joy that they held back on their questions for now, and decided they needed to go home immediately and celebrate. Matt promised to explain everything once they got back home. Matt couldn't stop looking at his parents. Their faces- everything it was just so new and beautiful to him. This moment of happiness didn't last long. As soon as the family stepped out of the circus, Matt's mother returned his gaze and immediately dropped to the ground unconscious. Shocked, the Mimikyu looked over to his father, who also immediately fell to the ground. Scared and confused, Matthias ran back to the circus where he was able to get help for his parents.

While he waited for his parents to wake up, He met with Mr. Dark again. In his despair, he confessed his worries. He didn't think he could stay with his family any longer in fear of hurting them. He didn't think he would even be able to face his parents, or tell them why he couldn't go home with them when they woke up. To his surprise, after their talk, Mr. Dark offered him a job at the circus. Matthias was a little wary at first after what had happened, but he decided to give Mr.Dark the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps it was reasonable to assume there would be a price for these things, maybe it was an oversight on his part for not asking this first. Besides, he really didn’t have anywhere else to turn.

Though it was very difficult for him to use at first, He's gotten quite proficient with it because of this. He doesn't use it to inflict damage unless absolutely necessary.

Misc:
-His tail, though it looks like a tree branch, is actually a real tail. It's fluffy and soft to the touch.
-Matthias' face, ears, and feet are all actually a stitched up disguise. His 'mouth' doesn't move when he talks, and his nose is a small plastic accessory that his mother made. Hoever, his real eyes can be seen through holes in the mask, and his arms are not covered by the disguise.
-His mother added spots to Matthias's disguise so he would match his father, who is a Palossand.
-His mother is a very skilled seamstress and taught Matthias how to sew over the years. It was a bit difficult due to Matthias's disability, but his mother was patient with him, as this skill is something that is essential for a mimikyu to learn in order to keep up with repairs for their disguises. Because of this, Matt is actually pretty good at sewing himself and likes to do so in his spare time.
-Using Psychic, Matthias can 'feel' or sense forms and shapes, but nothing too detailed.
-He works with Leland , who is the person being dunked into the dunk tank!
-He can read and write Braille
-Matthias' Parents awoke in a clinic in town two days later. By the time they woke up, the Circus had left. Matt left them a note, saying that he had decided to start a new life for himself. He told them he was sorry that he couldn't say goodbye, and that they shouldn't worry about him. They're extremely worried but have no idea that he took up a job at the circus. They tried hiring a private investigator to find him, but there hasn't been any success in doing so.

Though she didn’t mean any harm by it, she ended off by saying that she just couldn’t be with someone who couldn’t see. He would never be able to keep up with the life she wanted.

This rejection hit Matt hard. He was shocked by how blunt she was and started to spend more and more time locked in his room. Nothing seemed to cheer him up. He listened to music and roamed around in the garden, but even these activities felt hollow to him now. He couldn’t even go out and say goodbye on the day Elizabeth left. His parents did all they could to console him and guide him through his heartbreak, but they knew healing would take time. To help lift his spirits, they decided to put together a family outing just like when he was younger. Fortunately, there was a circus coming to town soon. The pair convinced Matt to join them, as the family had never been to a circus together before.

The day started out enjoyable. Matthias was slightly flustered by the number of people and sounds he picked up, but he couldn’t help but find it fascinating. It was nothing like anything he had ever experienced before. He had fun trying out of the different game stands, and even if he couldn’t see the acts, the sounds of the animals and booming voice of the ringmaster in the big top were exciting to him.

Unfortunately, as the family was preparing to leave the circus, they got caught in a crowd of people leaving the big top and were separated. Matt tried to use all of his senses to find his parents, Calling out to them desperately. but the amount of noise and people made this extremely difficult. To make matters worse, Matt was pushed along by the crowd, disorienting him. By the time he managed to free himself from all the people, he realized that he was completely lost.

He started to panic, asking any moving form he could sense if they could help him. He seemed to be in luck, as a large form approached him and asked what was wrong, and, after Matthias explained the situation, they introduced themselves as Mr. Dark and offered him one wish. Matt was a little confused by this offer, wondering if the person was mocking him. He decided to humor them, however. He took a moment to think the wish over. He realized that wouldn’t have been in this situation at all if he wasn’t blind. He would have been able to keep sights on his parents and find them easier without assistance. Perhaps... if he could see, Elizabeth wouldn’t have rejected him. He and she could have traveled together, spent a life full of adventure together. Maybe, if he could see now, he could still catch up to her and make that a reality. After a small pause, Matthias responded carefully. He asked that if the man really could grant wishes if he would please cure his blindness.

After making his wish, Matthias was able to open his eyes and see for the first time in his life. Ecstatic, he thanked Mr. Dark and immediately searched for his family once again. They weren't as difficult to find now that he could see the two frantic parents looking all over for their lost son. As soon as he heard their voices, he knew they were his family. He ran up and embraced them, telling them that he could see them for the first time. The moment brought the whole family to tears.

The family was so blinded by their joy that they held back on their questions for now, and decided they needed to go home immediately and celebrate. Matt promised to explain everything once they got back home. Matt couldn't stop looking at his parents. Their faces- everything it was just so new and beautiful to him. This moment of happiness didn't last long. As soon as the family stepped out of the circus, Matt's mother returned his gaze and immediately dropped to the ground unconscious. Shocked, the Mimikyu looked over to his father, who also immediately fell to the ground. Scared and confused, Matthias ran back to the circus where he was able to get help for his parents.

While he waited for his parents to wake up, He met with Mr. Dark again. In his despair, he confessed his worries. He didn't think he could stay with his family any longer in fear of hurting them. He didn't think he would even be able to face his parents, or tell them why he couldn't go home with them when they woke up. To his surprise, after their talk, Mr. Dark offered him a job at the circus. Matthias was a little wary at first after what had happened, but he decided to give Mr.Dark the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps it was reasonable to assume there would be a price for these things, maybe it was an oversight on his part for not asking this first. Besides, he really didn’t have anywhere else to turn.

The user copies the target's last move. The move can be used during battle until the Pokémon is switched out.
*Because Matthias does not have much battle experience, he will not be able to copy any moves that have a power of 80+

The user gazes at the target rather charmingly, making it less wary. This harshly lowers its Attack stat.

Psychic (TM)*
The target is hit by a strong telekinetic force. This may also lower the target's Sp. Def stat.
*Matthias received this TM from his parents as a birthday gift when he was eight years old. He's been using it constantly ever since in order to help him better navigate the world around him. Though it was very difficult for him to use at first, He's gotten quite proficient with it because of this. He doesn't use it to inflict damage unless absolutely necessary.

Misc:
-His tail, though it looks like a tree branch, is actually a real tail. It's fluffy and soft to the touch.
-Matthias' face, ears, and feet are all actually a stitched up disguise. His 'mouth' doesn't move when he talks, and his nose is a small plastic accessory that his mother made. Hoever, his real eyes can be seen through holes in the mask, and his arms are not covered by the disguise.
-His mother added spots to Matthias's disguise so he would match his father, who is a Palossand.
-His mother is a very skilled seamstress and taught Matthias how to sew over the years. It was a bit difficult due to Matthias's disability, but his mother was patient with him, as this skill is something that is essential for a mimikyu to learn in order to keep up with repairs for their disguises. Because of this, Matt is actually pretty good at sewing himself and likes to do so in his spare time.
-Using Psychic, Matthias can 'feel' or sense forms and shapes, but nothing too detailed.
-He works with Leland , who is the person being dunked into the dunk tank!
-He can read and write Braille
-Matthias' Parents awoke in a clinic in town two days later. By the time they woke up, the Circus had left. Matt left them a note, saying that he had decided to start a new life for himself. He told them he was sorry that he couldn't say goodbye, and that they shouldn't worry about him. They're extremely worried but have no idea that he took up a job at the circus. They tried hiring a private investigator to find him, but there hasn't been any success in doing so.
