Have a quick question about Icons.
I know when you set the path file the icon shows up based on what the icon looks like for the .exe
Is their a way to change the Icon while still using said .exe
For example
LauncherPath1="D:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\skse_loader.exe" \\This is the icon NERV UI will use
LauncherText1=Skyrim \\Text
LauncherIcon1="C:\Users\Caboose\Desktop\Icons\Skyrim.png" \\This is the Icon I want used
I've tried this method but no luck getting it to work. Can someone tell me where I went wrong?

Change the image here: Documents\Rainmeter\Skins\NERV UI\resources \Images\Icons, and I edit the picture (.ico) using icofx.ro/

So I have this skin and on my other skins, I would be able to unload skin and such by right clicking but after I loaded this one, no matter where I right click, I cant unload the skin...im very frusterated because I was trying to make meiko themed desktop and now i have all this in my way....T-T

Hey there, can someone has the same issue or can help me to find a fix?
I've installed windows update and after reboot to apply changes my rainmeter skin has been changed..
Everything it's functional but it makes diffiicult to read.. all the LCD and normal font on it looks kinda bold or even cropped.
Hope you can help me, please!!

EDIT: I had the bug after installing windows update on my laptop. You can fix it by right clic on rainmeter icon, settings, then go to the last tab (skins, themes, settings) and uncheck D2D rendering.. Your fonts now will look smoth again

this is my first time using Rainmerer and i have few questions
1. how can i edit the weather location?
2. how can i edit the icons on the launcher?
3.how can i hide the tool bar of window?

1.- If you want to change your weather location, you must clic on weather icon first.. it will launch a website where your actual location can be set by searching. Once you've found the right location, you must note that web address will change.. (www.weather.com/weather/5-day/… in my case.. my code it's behind the last slash "MXDF0132" copy this code and now you must clic on your desktop, panel (where you change BG and text color) here you'll see "custom file" it will launch a notepad with all settings.. found "WeatherCode=" and paste the code you found on weather forecaste website.
2.- Icons and apps pattern can be changed on the same "Custom File" from before.. just paste the name and path for your apps to be shown on your launcher: It will show you something like this..

The only thing left is for the Power to read in MM:SS:Milliseconds. I've tried editing the Power.ini file in strftime() and ctime() with no luck (I really don't know anything about coding). So, please, please, please help me out....

Hi,
I edited the Power.ini file in order for it to be a clock rather than the amount of battery power left (since I'm on a desktop).
I had no issues with an older version of this skin... But the new one crops my text. I tried many things but I have no idea how to remove this cropping. I thought that adding a width to the MeterLife2 (which shows the power) would fix it, but no..
This is what I changed to make it a clock:

Have you tried just with: Substitute="Unknown":"8:88:88" I mean, an 8 it's ocupying one more character.. On my laptop stays like that while connected to AC

I tried adding FontSize=N (N=what ever size) and it fixed the cropping. Can you show me what changes you made with MeterLife2 in regards with the width?

To fix this I just went into power.ini and changed the style to font size 40

My HDD is the A: directory but the shortcuts in the bottom-right corner do not show A:

You need to edit the skin, Right click on the skin you want to edit, select "edit skin", and if it is supposed to display the letter the just ctrl+f and type in "A:\" (No quotations.
If this is not the case, like the skin isn't showing at all, find one that is right click it select "Manage Skin", and a form will pop up. You will see a list of folders akin to windows explorer or regedit (collapsible directories.) Now if The author of this skin is well organized you should have no problem locating the HDD skins. (also assuming the author is well organized and included skins for drive letter a- at the very least E , like I said find the drive letter skin you wish to display, then open the folder, then double click the .ini file, also if you want to remove a skin, locate it the same way and double click the .ini file and it will disappear. Oh and if you are not happy with the skin placement check the click through option on said skin, I make a habit of checking click through on all of my skins as I get bored with lay outs fast and like to rearrange.
I would also suggest finding some tutorials on authoring your own skins. Also if you wish to draw your own unique skins I suggest getting a Wacom tablet...you do not need anything fancy, a bamboo will work just fine, but if you really like graphic design/have an artistic talent I would spring for the more pricey Intous models, and draw the skin yourself. There are the Cintiq models as well but those can run you around a grand so unless you, you either A. have the cash to drop on one or B. are starting a career in the field of graphic design, the Cintiq is overkill.
If I made any mistakes, or left something out, let me know(other rainmeter users/authors please correct me, but I am pretty sure I am spot on.
Oh and Pepper if you need anymore help just send me a PM I will be glad to help in anyway I can, ( I am also a computer Tech so if you have any PC trouble, let me know, I can also help with Mac PCs (Though saying I am not overly fond of the Mac/Apple products/software is a gross understatent, I know my way around the damned things. lol Talk to you later.

Question marks are being displayed in the launcher instead of chinese characters. I can see the characters in custom.ini. Am I missing any files?

You can have a right clic on "PANEL" it will change to it's different modes.. Text (which display apps name), Icon (sort of monocromatic style to fit your color setting), Icon color at last. the ?????? comes from a Chinese app name, or some characters that cannot be shown. Try edit your launcher settings at custom file to fix this. Greetings!
