Some of you probably recognize this because I submitted the black and white for this a while back. the fact that it's still on the front page when you click into my gallery means I haven't been putting up much lately because I am an incredibly lazy BUM.This is Haluin DuMarque, a character of mine, blah blah blah, steal and perish under the wrath of Cthulu and enranged artist, and look really stupid for trying to boot. Xp
FelineCanine deserves mass kudos for the tutorial on making things glow that I mutated into the gold shades for the crown. The rest is my drawing, my sisters design for the window, and my coloring, as if I had nothing else to do. Rar.

Edit two: Rather than repeat myself a hundred times since this seems to be newcomers argument with me all the time: I'll state it in the description and pretend it's going to be read.
Before you ask me to ink, study my gallery carefuly. Note what there is an overal lack of in my gallery.....
Thats RIGHT! I don't ink. I hate inking my pictures, and I often leave 'sketch' lines because they make the picture 'feel' right to me. I realize this goes totaly against the grain with most people's particular art style, but it's a quirk in mine I'm afraid I'm unlike to to fix. Cause I like it.

I love his wings. Especially the way they look very durable and yet are so thin that they are transparent. I agree with you though. If you inked this the way most do, it would have an entirely different feel to it, and I like it just the way it is. This piece has inspired me to look around your gallery a lot more.

People keep harassing you to ink? Lame. I understand what you mean about the sketch lines. I do that too, sometimes, because they just...pop up in the right places, somehow, so they're not where you wanted them but if you erase them it just doesn't look right anymore. I've only ever inked one drawing, and that was because it was created for someone else to color.
Anyway, *everybody* inks their pencils, and it's nice to see people who just let them be so you can admire them in their natural form. Like I told your sister, I love your sketchy style, and her beautiful smooth lines, and inking them would take all the personality away.

Always have loved the sketchiness in your drawings. Matter of fact, most of the ones I have from the old days are inked over the sketch, but rarely did I erase.

Yeah but I'm such a touchy little snark about it. ^_^; That and people calling my drawings 'sketches'. I think most of my vast journal rants are inspired by the word 'sketch' or 'ink'. ^_^;;;

Meh, don't listen to people...unless yer like, reeeally good, inking picture takes away way too much detail. Plus, I think the sketch lines give the piece more personality. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
The picture was awesome as a b&w piece and how the HELL you managed to fit all those damned wings onto one pages is beyond my comprehension...but adding the color to this just really gives it that extra pop. The leopard stripes look absolutely awesome, and his right arm looks cool the way it's kind of in shadow but still visible through the membrane of the wings. It's just a cool piece overall, and an awesome character. It's a wonder you ever draw him at all though, he's gotta be a real pain in the ass to draw with all the wings and spots and what-not, hehe.

i like the sketchy look. i do a lot of my stuff that way. i only realy ink if i intend to color, or just feel like doing line art. i just like the look. for some reason, he reimds me of night crawler. but im sure you get that a lot, so illhush now. great picture!

He was originaly based on nightcrawler, but in black and white it's a lot harder for people to tell that now. ^_^; The blue thing is kinda an giveaway to his origins though.

I almost never ink my lines, it doesn't always improve the picture, mostly it ends up taking away some of the soft shading of which I'm fond. ^_^;
