This is just one of the many, many gemstone adopts to come! 
Sometime within the week, I will be releasing a full sheet of birthstone themed ponies to help me raise money to send my sewing machine in for repair. All money from these auctions will go toward repairing my sewing machine. Any and all help would mean so much to me (and I'll try to make lovely ponies for you to make it fun for all of us ^^).
Peridot is August's birthstone and the first pony I decided to make because it's such a cool and unique stone (but man is green hard to work with!).
Peridot is rumored to have the power to protect people against nightmares, so I thought it would be a fun idea to give this girlie a dream catcher to help fend off her fellow ponies' nightmares. You absolutely don't have to include this in her story if you adopt her, I just thought it might be a cute idea.
For anyone who is interested, Peridot is also supposed to grant power and influence throughout the year. Which means adopting this pony will make you very powerful.

Weirdly enough (or maybe not), this is my next-younger sister's (the one who was born just after me, but in 1958) birthstone. Her birthday is August 12th.

I love hearing from all of these people with August birthdays (or in your case, from people who know people with August birthdays). I have found it's not a super common month. I'm so used to March because that's when I was born and most of my friends were too.

Theres only two things keeping me from bidding. I wanna see what March looks like lol and the fact that I don't wanna hog all your ponies. October is my favorite month though so I wanna see if you do a kind of Halloween theme pony.

My favorite thing about this pony is that little scarf and dreamcatcher combination. I'm so glad people like her, I was so worried that the unusual colors might be off putting.

I love her color. It stands out so much and in a very good way. Her scarf and dream catcher look so cute on her. I love your ideas for her. I hope whoever gets her, will go with your ideas. I think they would fit her so well.

I'm really excited to make her. I was going to start with Garnet because it's January's stone, but I hit a problem where rubies and garnets are very similar colors and represent very similar things.
And it's been sort of bumping along lately, but it sort of kicked the bucket today. I know that the fix will be really quick once I get it in, so I want to raise money as quick as possible so I can get back to commissions. But my goodness do they charge a lot of money for these repairs! Even if it's just for software. o_o;

I am planning on doing all of the main stones for each month (I still need to figure out how to make Garnet and Ruby different - their color and meaning are sooo similar).
And yeah, I think it's mainly a software issue, so the fix shouldn't take too long. Just lots of money.

Haha, I wish they would be kind and offer the drives to fix the software problems online. I mean, most machines that can embroider are made to connect with computers, so it really shouldn't be that hard? But maybe it's more complicated than it seems at first glance. I'm sure most companies like any excuse they can get to make more money.

I am absolutely dying to post the next one. But I am holding back so I can have gem mania up in here when I am done with them all. XD
Hm, let's see how I can best describe this (I've been having a problem explaining it to people). The first is just a thread tension issue, which I could fix on own if there weren't other issues. The main problem is that my machine doesn't really have manual functions - the foot goes down by button, etc. and the machine is refusing to accept that things are okay and ready for sewing. As a result, it gives me this red light and tells me that it's not prepared and can't do anything. Sometimes I can get it going by pressing the pedal a million times, but it'll only sew for like two seconds at a time. -_- I hope that sort of made sense. I can't even move the foot up and down manually because my machine won't do anything if it doesn't believe that everything is in order.

I've had my machine do that a lot but mine doesn't have a computer,
nothing really has fixed it so that's why I just handsew everything.

And wow, I admire your patience with hand sewing! I always hurt my hands too much when I do it, the needles rip through me, hahaha.
My running theory is that sewing machines these days are a lot like modern computers. Manufacturers have started to cut corners on making quality products knowing that people are more willing to spend less money on something they will replace later than more money on something that will last a lifetime. :/

You could always do a mix of all of those? I mean like
release a few by themselves, release a few in sheets/pairs;
that way you won't be overwhelming people with 12 deviations
but they'll get some attention.

It sucks though when you make full sized ponies; you get a bit
tired of them, lol.
And that makes a lot of sense honestly; like lemme make you
something that you have to pay a lot for and not put effort
so that way WE'RE not spending too much. It sucks too
because you take a look at older machines and those beasts
can last you FOREVER yet these new ones last like 2-4 years...
