Description
Ok after the success of my first configuration of other people stuff I decided to try my hand at making my very own skin. I know some people have a hard time finding out their Weather Code so I tossed a little something something together.I'd like to thank poiru for putting me on the right path, Alex Attar for his very well done Rainmeter Skin Tutorials and everyone who made Rainmeter happen.
Self installing .rmskin file to make life easier on everyone. GPS Latitude and Longitude coordinates sourced from link . If your location is incorrect you can attempt to contact them to update their database.
Version 2 is in the works with more colors and current weather information, not just the weather code.
24th June 2011: Today Signal Source hit 1,000 downloads. Thank you all for your support.
I havn't had the time I'd of liked to work on version 2, class projects are killing me but I hope to work on it during my break. Till then, enjoy the devients!

This was working great for me for about 6 mos and all of the sudden stopped being able to locate me. Β If I go to the site (ip2locations.com) the data returned is fairly accurate (at least the right state). Β Any ideas?

Actually I noticed that the link in the file is pointing to [IPLocationTools=www.iplocationtools.com] . Β Is this correct?
Thanks for your help!

I'll do my best. I'm no photo manip expert but would need to make different colors of the map. Actually if you know how to edit the current map and change the colors. Let me know how it worked out if you try.

You don't. The information is generated from the website and returned for the skin. You can modify it to input it yourself. The site basicaly takes your IP and returns your location and weather code. It gives other information but i only snagged that for this skin.

Very nice skin, found me with zero problems. The information is cut off in the info box when i hover my mouse over my location though. I look forward to version 2 for the more colors option, cuz the blue looks sweet, but it just doesn't blend in well with my current rainmeter setup.

It's a simple edit to make the popup box larger. Scroll down to:
;==================================================
; Display Target Information on grid background
;==================================================
Increase the width of both the MeterHoverTargetBG & MeterHoverTargetInfo and you should be set.

This is amazing! Well, it don't work for me, because there's some problem with locating my location (it sends me to another end of my country) but still, this is just great! It looks nice and, most of all, it's useful. Great job!

Yea. Basically if the company's database says this IP range is located in Dallas TX and you actually live in New York it's going to give you "incorrect data". However if you can find a link that gives more accurate information on your co-ordinates and also provide your weather code I can incorporate another version that uses it. My issue was finding a site that provides both. I'm looking into Yahoo but there's a lot of stuff to sort through.

Thanks for the support guys. I'll try to improve upon this simple concept and also work on new stuff when I can.
