When you are doing Genocide run, Chara doesn't laugh from that whoopie cushion in the hand trick.
that's probably why he did it in first place. to test how Frisk would react. if Frisk would react like Chara did, he would know Frisk never was sorry about anything that happened, and that they are just putting a act.

I generally don't mind the fact that he lies his non-existant ass off at us. Simply because he has so many weaknesses. It's like, pull one string and the rest untie themselves. He let's out skele-tons of info when in distress. So, you just play mind games until he no longer remains a player of them and he just rattles on. Pretty simple stuff.
That probably sounds super bad, but hey, it could be worse. He could be dead. Lol.
