Appearance:Giuiliano stands at just about 5’8” with a fairly thick set frame and broad shoulders. His features are rounded with a slight tan, hazel eyes and auburn hair that reaches his jaw before ending in a choppy cut, ends curling up, one area in particular curling up on his right.. His hair lacks bangs and the right (his right) side of his hair tends to fall in front of his face, something he’s grown used to and rarely tries to move from his face unless it is really rather windy and completely obscures his vision or if you point it out. He's also not heard of a razor and seems to have a perma stubble on his face. Clothes wise he wears a dark blue coat that reaches his mid thigh and usually with the collar upturned (no matter the weather), a light blue dress shirt, black necktie, light brown waist coat and brown slacks with the final addition of black dress shoes. He also sometimes wears brown leather gloves depending on the occasion.

Personality: A usually calm and well mannered man, Giuiliano has often been referred to as tight fisted, straight talk and cynical man with a healthy dose of stress on the side. This would be quite accurate with people he either does not know or does not like, easily being described as mean. Despite this once he warms up to you, he’ll generally be a lot friendlier and warmer towards you he still will have a hard time lending you money.For the most part, even once he’s decided he likes you, he’ll still rarely laugh and have a face like a slapped arse. Obviously although usually calm, there are certain people that really grate on his nerves and he will snap if you’re one of those people, but for the most part, his bark is worse than his bite. He also harbours quite the ego on the quiet.

Background:
Founded in an area formerly used by the Ligures, Greeks, Etruscans and possibly Phoenicians. As a child he was over shadowed by cities in modern day France such as Marseille and the city allied with Rome during the Second Punic War, though the city was destroyed by the Carthaginians and rebuilt during the Carthagianian war. After the city was rebuilt Genoa extended further inland and begun their own trading skins, wood and honey to other major cities to the north. After the fall of the Roman empire the area was taken over by the Ostrogoths and after the Gothic War the city was made seat of the Byzantium's vicar, with the Bishop of Milan fleeing to the city to avoid the Lombard invasions and it wasn't until 643 that the Lombards captured Liguria, though the Lombard Kingdom was annexed by the Frank empire in 773.

By 1100 Genoa had a thriving trade enterprise and merchant fleet and was proclaimed an indepedant city-states and was one of the four Maritime Republics (Along with Venice, Pisa and Amalfi). During this time Genoa's main income came from from trading, shipbuilding and banking and was used to fund what was at the time one of the largest and most powerful navies in the Mediterranean and near total control of the Tyrrhenian sea and of course, the Lugurian Sea and was also going in the crusades and using it as an oppourtunity to establish colonies to gather more resources as well as becoming well known in the medieval slave trade. The Genoese also took advantage of the fourth crusade, using the falling out with the Venetians to take over the trade and to move into the Black Sea and Criema, despite internal feuding amongs some of Genoa's most powerful families and the Genoa was briefly the most powerful period after defeating both Pisa and Venice in naval battles.

However the Black Death brought in from the colonies in Crimea in 1347, after which point the Genoese followed the Venetian's example and had a Doge installed as the wars with said Venetians continued. The last war with the Venetians, the War of Chioggia, in which the Genoese would have taken over as the permanent dominant maritime republic, had the Venetians not recovered in the Adriatic and in the next centuryGenoa would lose Sardinia to Aragon, Corsica to internal revolt and its Middle Eastern, Eastern European and Asia Minor colonies to the Turkish Ottoman Empire with the city-state also coming under the control of the viscounts of Milan. It wasn't until the 1500s that Genoa was able to stabalize itself again after becoming a satellire state of the Spanish Empire, in which time many of Genoas nobel families gathered huge fortunes as well as assisting the Spanish with the exploration of the Americas. In 1625 the Spanish-Genoese combination managed for force out the French-Savonian invaders, though the French set about bombarding the city as a punishment for siding with the Spanish, then was later occupied by the war of Austrian Succession (1746) and in 1768 sold Corsica to France.

After trade and economy started to move westard towards the Americas, Genoa's power went into a steady decline, later followed by pressure from Napoleon and became a French protectorate knows as the Ligurian rebublic before being annexed by France in 1805. Though in 1814 the Genoese revolted against the French and freed the city themselves before becoming part of the Kingdom of Sardinia. Though Genoa soon became known as a hotbed of anti-Savoy sentiments, though Genoa stayed as union was very good for him economically and eventually decided, thanks to the rising popularity Risorgimento movement that trying to fight for a unified Italy would be the best. and in 1860 set out to begin the campaign.

In World War II, despite not being one of the listed naval ports of the Kingdom of Italy the city was bormabrded by the Britih fleet (an unexploded shell can still be seen in the Cathedral of San Lorenzo) and the city was liberated by the partisans shortly before the allies arrived in the city.
