I felt like drawing a sonic. Toei Sonic to be precise. After drawing a couple of versions of Sonic I think I like drawing Toei Sonic the most and I love his design. I still need to work on drawing his ears better and his spikes sometimes confuse me, lol.Previous attempt at Toei Sonic

Yes, I know how to animate but it's been a long time since I've touched 2d animation. Two years was the last time I did proper 2d 
I am willing to make a game with money involved but it depends what it is and if it's easy enough to juggle with school and working with the other fan game project I'm working on. As for heart, I usually try to put effort in everything but I do end up hating my stuff very easily, and redoing stuff a lot. But it really depends on what the game is about though.

Thanks, I've always loved his quick and flexible animations. The cutscenes were the best and probably were some of the greatest sonic animations I've ever seen, and it didn't even need to use words to describe what was happening. It seems though, I don't know how his spikes work, nor mickey's ears :'D

Agreed! They were so expressive and really brought Sonic to life in a way that the cartoons didn't. It's too bad the closest we got afterward was a two-part anime that never had a continuation.
I don't think anyone knows how either of them work, honestly.

Its really great seeing your work with toei sonic again and he turned out perfectly really like the simplicity yet the bit of detail to it to give it a crisp look

His spikes are so hard to get right, but I just love his design so much. It's hard. The OVA is very close to toei's Sonic's design. I liked it, but OVA sonic lost some of his pointiness, got a little chubbier and I think his legs got longer.
Yes, as soon as I heard about Sonic Mania, I was hyped and started to suddenly draw a lot of sonic and replay his games. I'm also curious about the Project 2017

I have that problem with sonic in any style actually XD it can be a bit tricky since its like precise look to him but you did great here
yeah it was a little off but close to it, kinda wish we'd got see some more of the old style animations.
It looks fantastic alone from the preview and the art and music is just perfection! I'm really looking forward to that one especially with classic sonic and modern sonic are both gonna be in it again

Though I must say, because of the way the eyes were drawn, it lacks the ability to show obvious emotions.

It's because the animations in sonic CD was made by Toei animation xD
They're the guys that made the original Dragonball too. I just love how fluent he moves, and I just love how creative those small animations were. I would had loved to see a tv show of it made by Toei animation.
