Description
The Callex is a tall and fast herbivore, in fact one of the speediest land animals running at a top speed of 35 mph. The Callex is quite the common animal to see around as it has a decent lifespan of 16 years while simultaneously reproducing quickly. During the breeding season, their herds can reach huge numbers in the hundreds and can decimate the local plant life if there aren't enough carnivores. The human arrival has affected their overall population as they were being hunted for their rich meat, but the Callex was quickly found to be quite easy to farm and is now a staple farm animal on Auri. Male Callex have large antlers on their head compared to the females, which only have small antlers. Either way, these sharp protrusions can impale attackers easily and may result in your end if you were to try and confront a defensive Callex. Bioluminescent spots can be seen all over the Callex, while not particularly bright they still offer some use in communication between herd members. Callex prefer to live in grasslands and wet areas with tall and thick brush for many different food options. During winter time, they obtain a short but thick coat of fur to help defend against the cold.
