Description
It's name is a direct reference to chameleons on Earth, since that is what they seem to be most evolutionary convergent with. Chameleomorphs are quite sizable and tend to live in and around caves and cliff faces, they can change the color of their skin to match the glowing moss beneath themselves in order to mask their silhouette from it's preferred prey. They are most commonly seen eating flying bugs and even krytes! But usually they attract a lot of bugs for a hearty feast. Their tail acts like an angler lure in the dark which looks like blood to the bugs, since auric aliens have pinkish red blood compared to earthling blood, which is deep red. Their sticky and long tongue comes to be quite useful when catching prey, and means that the chameleomorph can just sit and wait all day for food to come to it. One hard to spot feature is it's eyes which can in fact, like a chameleon, swerve in all sorts of directions.
