Description
Centitentis also known as "Highway crawlers" are dark masses that writhe around in the depths of Auri's caves devouring everything it crawls over, consuming biomatter from underwater silt and dry soil and can spill out it's stomach to engulf larger consumables. It is a freshwater organism that it primarily lives in, but has evolved a way for itself to come onto land by carrying the water with it in water sacs to breathe. Centitentis can vary highly in size and tentacle length, the heaviest specimen shown in the image above, but are typically only about 2 feet large with very long arms. They have no internal skeleton, but rather an exoskeleton around the central body where the arms sprout from. They have long arms that branch off from the main body which can regrow if damaged or torn off, and these arms help feed the creature by reaching out for potential prey. Centitentis moves incredibly slow, likely the slowest land macroorganism on the planet so the sticky parts at the end of the arms help it grab anything at all. One unique feature are the small sticky tendrils that peel out from under the bottom scales of the arms to help grip tougher prey or to help grip onto walls. Centitentis cannot see, but rather relies on vibrations and light sensory pores to detect potential predators or prey.
Centitentis are most well known for their behavior to use the underground highway system by crawling on the ceilings of them, and can disrupt traffic from their glowing tentacles.
