I think it's just the little "V" shape and color of the mask on this one that's making people misread these as Chimes owo;

I was thinking that might be a reason as well as the gold and silver coloring. Which is frustrating because when I was designing these I made rules about how their masks go. Solar Lites must have a horizontal-ish engraved line between the eyes. But they're just decoration. Lunar Shades are more vertical-ish and go completely across the mask. It's not an opening though. That would be like breaking their head open D:

This is from my main account. Look at the date this was posted. September 8, 2013. From what I'm aware of, Lucky Chimes were created this year. After my Solar Lites and Lunar Shades.
Is that enough proof or shall I go into detail about their differences?

Personally I would agree that this specific deviation bears a striking resemblance to my chime species, while your original species page does not- I totally understand that species and designs change over time, etc, but the stubby body is probably what causes people to make the connection- without that the other similarities wouldn't really stand out. What you do with this information is totally up to you, of course, but just giving my input c:

I'm looking for a species guide or a different type that doesn't look exactly like a lucky chime the design looks very familiar to a lucky chime and if the person doesn't show proof I am going to have to warn the owner of lucky chimes that there species might be being copied and it would just lead to a world of hate I'm trying to get some proof so this person doesn't end up being hated on

But by looking at it cant you see it isnt a copy? the whole head isnt a bell? + they have two pupils, chemes doesent have this? they seem mechanic, while chimes are.... yeah chimes 
They can have claws?Β
Maybe they are bigger than chimes but the owner havent wuite figured out the ref sheet yet?Β

So i would think its proof enough that the creator thought these species through a little, but just couldnt wait to do adopts before all the sheets were made? (i might be wrong its not that, i dont know. Its just my opinion that i see no resembling between these and chimes).
