i, too, would love to hear how you got the shatter done so well. i've tried this over and over and it just never looks quite right to me. you're an inspiration for me to keep trying!

This is made in photoshop cs4/cs3, i used the polygonal lasso tool to crop away the flying bits, so at first it looked like there were random-shaped bits diffusing from the clock and the dress. Then I erased the edges using some crack brushes, added some debris to make it look more realistic...
I think the key in making it look realistic are the brushes...
