contest entry for the crystal empire!category: creativity contest
again sorry for the sloppy job on the background
im gonna go with a bit-creepy-entry starring the mane 6 (rainbow dash not included) dressed up as the negative elements for nightmare night, why are the costumes look so hoofin' real you ask?
with a little help from twilight's magic of course.
so anyways
pinkie pie as the negative laughter: discord
rarity as the negative generosity: nightmare moon
fluttershy as the negative kindness: king sombra
applejack as the negative honesty: crysalyss
and twilight sparkle as the negative magic: demon sunset shimmer
in this arc. rainbow dash failed to perform the sonic rainboom in their fillyhood days and died in a horrible accident.
so...
filly applejack was unhappy in manehattan so she ran away and tried to return to ponyville on her own. without the rainbow guiding her, she got so terribly lost and ventured to the changeling hive. now she is the commanding soldier in crysallys' hive. now they're plotting to overthrow celestia and take over all of equestria. i know she kinda looks like a zerg, heh. HIVEJACK
filly fluttershy got stranded in the ground, nopony knew that she was down there, then night fell. the dark, spooky night noises and everfree forest creatures scared her off and she kept running endlessly for her dear life. then she later on learned that the shadows were not foes but allies, the shadow sombra saw potential in her and took over her body. now imagine fluttershy attacking like a wolfo from the legends of zelda, with diamond hard armor and the deadly strategy of a weeping angel *shudders*. Crystals have overgrown on her body and what she is now is just an empty shell. SHYSTAL
unable to discover her destiny, filly rarity returned home in vain. she was a blankflank for so many years until that night of the 1000th summer sun celebration. twilight didnt become celestia's pupil thus celestia was the one who battled nightmare moon and defeated her. her remains lingered in the everfree forest calling forth souls in vain. rarity answered that call and together they merged and... sory i'm kinda making this up as i go along and im all out of ideas for NIGHTMARITY
anywho, failing celestia's entrance exam, filly twilight fled in shame. running away from the academy, her family, and canterlot forever. as years passed shame grew into hate and hate grew into anger. she spent years learning all that she could about the dark arts until she discovered the elements or harmony. with the influence of darkness, the elements of harmony turned to the darkside for some fresh chocolate chip cookies. twilight intends to use this power to end celestia's rein (and also revenge) and rule all of equestria with tyranny. DAELIT
finally theres sweet little pinkamena. the rock farm that she worked on just got an order for garden rocks for canterlot, so the family traveled to the kingdom for delivery and you all know where i'm going with this... pinkamena found discords statue. discord influenced her. blah blah blah so he managed to persuade pinkamena to become the vessel for chaos. DRAKAMENA.

why that conniving little thief, all i can say is that he's immature and should know better. but still other people would figure out that the art isn't his judging by the art style in his DB. his so called "oc" looks like it's made by microsoft art, his posted and "acclaimed" art have different art styles and has no style association with the rest whatso ever, so yeah no idiot would be fooled
and what would happen if gullible people would ask him an art request, what then huh? he obviously doesn't have the artistic talent to back up his acclaims. bastard, i hope that one of these days he'll get whats coming to him. Have you considered combining Fluttershy's portrayal of Sombra onto Twilight's portrayal of dark magic, showing twilight as the portrayal of the corrupt ruler Sombra (who actually uses dark magic in the first place so they go together) thus freeing up Fluttershy to Portray another legitimate antagonist. Perhaps the spirit of the Everfree, or even Ahuizotl considering her affinity for animals.

nope, the idea behind this is "negative elements" which are the opposite of their harmonious element. Shystal became the element of cruelty which is based on sombra, besides i made this before the start of season 4, so the everfree and ahuizotl didn't bite just yet. plus these are MAJOR villans of the show, ahuizotl is more of daring's arch enemy and if i could manifest the everfree into a pony body i would but neither of them represent the negative elements.
ahuizotl is kinda like an element of narcissism or wrath and the everfree would be the element of hunger (IDK why, dont ask)
twilight's dark aura on her eyes represents darkness which makes her more demonic since i gave her demon sunset shimmer. it may be associated with sombra for most of you guys but for me it's just raw darkness. sunset shimmer has a flaming mane because her mane color matches, i dont want twi looking like rapidash like in the episode feeling pinkie keen.
but i do find your perspective intrigue. although not quite matching the idea

Ah, see I was looking at these negative elements as the mane six personifying the villains of the show (which one could argue makes them the negative elements as the villains /are/ the sources of strife, chaos, etc...), but I digress.
Also, it seems I completely missed the Sunset Shimmer connection with Twilight. Her portrayal shouted 'dark magic' to me, rather than 'demon sunset shimmer', though I think I might have made the connection if her tail had been swapped with the demon tail Sunset Shimmer was sporting at the end of the movie.
I also see that Pinkie is sporting Ahuizotl's tail along with her Discord look. Was that intentional, or did it just kinda turn out looking like that unintentionally?

yeah i kinda failed to make the sunset shimmer theme for twily more recognizable, people keep saying "sombra" *le sigh*. what do you think should i have done to make her demonic without the rapidash look?
for DRAKAMENA, yes it is intentional. although i never thought that ahuizotl would make a comeback this season. hey let's play a game; can you guess which antagonist or conflict character part that they all belong to?

I think the tail would have made the sunset shimmer connection. Might have been good to give her Sunset's eyes too.
The identification is easy enough though, now that the whole Twilight thing is cleared up. Pinkie is Discord and Ahuizotl, Rarity is the forces of shadow (AKA the thing that possessed Luna and made her nightmare moon), I still say Twilight is dark magic in general but also Sunset Shimmer, Fluttershy is Sombra, and Apple Jack is Chrysalis/the changelings in general, and Rainbow Dash was simply "to cool" to interrupt her nap and bother showing up for the photo shoot.
Also... I have deviations?! I did not know this about myself. Apparently my mere existence is art itself... damn I'm good!

buffalo leg - over a barrel
lion paw - manticore
eagle claw - gilda
tail - dragon from dragonshy
swan wing - nightmare moon
other wing - cockatrice
and so on...
drakamena is the same
gustav claw + ahuizotl tail + mirror pinkie pie's "hand" + spitfire wing + lightning dust + fruitbat + dragon + babs body + pinkamena diane pie

I am not very fond of Shystal (she looks too artificial for me... some empty pupils with mindless stare or a mouth gaping open is missing... don´t know. She looks more like a Golem Version;and isn´t King Sombra´s Theme not more Mist and Shadow with purple fog oozing from his horn and eye... okay now I am nitpicking

(btw: this is what i call these type of comments. it means CONTRADICTION-PARADOX. and its fun to read)
SHYSTAL - flutters only made truce with sombra, she learned cruelty in the process. the crystal overgrow adapts to her coat and eye color (see the wings have 3 pairs of eyes each) the hair are not individual strands anymore. but yeah you're kinda right. also im experimenting art styles anyway.
NIGHTMARITY - i just went with the comic canon nightmarity. but i like your idea very much
HIVEJACK - looks like a zerg, i know. i guess she can change form too, just not as effective as actual changelings.
DRAKAMENA - okay try and guess the conflict characters parts that she has from all three seasons of mlp. also i've planed for a more gruesome idea for her. she'd split her head and six more would grow out. each head have the individual characteristics of a windighost, timberwolf, dragon, a unicorn, surprise, and a changeling. that is also a reference to "too much pinkie pie"
DAELIT: well maybe because sunset shimmer has flame colored mane and twilight has dorky bangs (no offense twi) also i kinda crammed in the wing production fearing the deadline of the contest. and the dark aura pulsing out of her horn and eyes is darkness, it doesnt refer to sombra alone. demon sunset shimmer has it. although a different color.
i intended to give battle armor to nightmarity and daelit, but you know... deadlines.

I feel saying that RD dying in an accident sounds a bit liek you just didn't have an idea for her. Because if that's true, then how come Fluttershy didn't die when she fell from Cloudsdale? The only reason she survived the first time was because butterflies just HAPPEN to have been swarming the area below her when RD challenged the bully to a race.
But I digress, this is your work of art (and it's very lovely btw =3) so I'll just say you should keep at it!

I noticed that Rainbow Dash was missing so I read the desription thinking that there wasn't a villain left for her, then I read that she died as a filly, I thought it was a joke, but after reading the profile of each one, sounds like an intresting and depresing version of the ponis we love.
