This is a great tutorial.
Only one problem I had was, If the shape layer is selected when pressing the D and then X it makes black the foreground colour. (the reverse of if this was done with, say, the text layer selected.) And then the gradient overlay has no effect.
It took me a while to figure out what I had done wrong

I could only get half-way through because I use a lower version of photoshop (elements 2.0) but it's an awesome result that you have ^^
