Hello, Al!
He's chosen nice tree, which fits lovely to his feathers.

"Who's a pretty boy then?!" He's very gorgeous … if he has escaped from somewhere, someone must be missing him and looking for him surely?
Simon & Garfunkel were one of my favourites 'back in the day' - well still are actually and I have a number of Paul Simon albums (who can forget Graceland/!): He's just realised one recently actually In The Blue Light, so still going strong!

When he first appeared (about 3 months ago), I tried all the local papers and websites to see if anyone had reported a lost parrot, but no luck. They're quite valuable. Alexandine parrots sell for between $200 and $500 each.

It's not an Australian bird. It must have escaped from his owner. Anyway, he has a mate now, so you never know.

Indeed you never know,
in the Netherlands we have many green collar parakeet ,but they were not there 50 years ago. Our common house sparrow is going to die out and more and more of the green collar parakeet are coming.

That is interesting Ilona. It says that there are no populations of the Alexandrine parrot in Australia. This may be the first! lol
I was very surprised to see a female recently. I have no idea where she came from!

I think indeed escaped,
I hope she knows how to survive in nature, otherwise she will die.
Because I think a male will never come across them.
Really pathetic Peter !

Some people call it a parrot and others a parakeet Lucy.
I don't know the difference Lucy, if there is a difference between a parrot and a parakeet?

I was confused as you Lucy! lol Some websites call it one or the other? Some say it's a ring neck parrot?
I honestly don't know.
I just think they're a beautiful bird, even if they are not native to Australia. I am so pleased the male has found a mate, though I don't have a clue where she came from?
