Description
This is something that I've had in the works for almost a month. This is a commission for xXRTRXx , who is the most important person in my life, and I love him with all my heart.
He requested that I draw his favorite of my original characters ( ), Alchemy, who has been caught by her parents after eating too much chocolate; and her brother's chocolate at that! But, regardless of the crumpled wrappers and chocolate stained fingers, Alchemy insists that she only ate one Kit Kat.
Man, I know my art needs so much work, but knowing how happy this picture made him makes me like it so much more. I know : The background is plain, and it was shortsighted of me not to add a little bit more to make it seem like more of a child's room (the addition of stuffed animals came to me after the layers were merged). Also, my short break caused me to forget how to color...again. ;^; So many problems here, but so much cuteness too >.< And yes, the spelling of Kit Cat is intentional. ;3
Thank you baby for all of your support and for always being there for me when things get tough, and thank you for all of your help these past few months. This is not nearly enough, but I promise I'll draw for you whenever you ask, until death do us part. <3

I really like the perspective here. And by like I mean I LOVE it. Especially because the legs and feet were drawn so well. And Alchemy is SUPER cute. Super CUTE.
I also love that some one you care about so deeply was the one to commission you. That's so sweet. I'd love for my family or friends to do that for me...gosh.

AH! You know I could probably be done with your picture by now if my scanner hadn't stopped working on me. SERIOUSLY. Ever since I got this updated OS for my mac, it says that it can't even re-install it! I am trying to figure it out because there is NO way I should have to buy a new one! Are you kidding me? There's absolutely nothing wrong with the one I have!

SOOO CUTE! Even though more things for a child's room would enhance this picture (omg, stuffed animals), I don't think they're strictly necessary! It just looks like the room was just cleaned up (I'm sure that won't last long, though!). The picture doesn't look plain because of the patters you used in the bedspread, Alchemy's dress, even the rug! They give you something to look at so that you don't even notice whether or not the background is plain (which, again, I don't think it is. : D) I love the lines of the bedspread's pattern and how they draw the eye directly to Alchemy. Her outfit is so stinkin' adorable, too. Actually, she's adorable. The whole picture is adorable!
I love the details in the Converse, too, and the way you put your signature on them. And, as always, I love the way you've done Alchemy's eyes. I love your use of textures, toooo. It really enhances your art!

I do have one little critique that I just noticed. I think the perspective of the rug is off a little bit. Since the point of view of the picture is so close to the ground, the bottome edge of the rug should actually be even wider than it already is.
And another thing I noticed (not a critique)! The bedroom walls are such a pretty blue! There's a lot of blue going on here and the way you used a complimentary color to contrast Alchemy's dress and make her stand out is perfect! Once again, you draw the eye straight to her. The colors are so fun and bright. It's really hard not to smile while looking at this picture. n_n

Thanks for the critique. I think I thought it looked off (no I did...) but I am bad at perspective and even looking at it and my surroundings I get things mixed up. It's nice to know what you see and it helps me in the future because I actually hate drawing pictures with no backgrounds now. It's the perfectionist/completest crap inside me...
Also...I watched Titanic tonight. Surprisingly I cried when everyone ELSE died (yeah spent most of it crying as Camo would occasionally look at me) and then I watched A Walk to Remember, which I hadn't seen in years, but I knew how it ended...so about half way through or w/e she is like "I have leukemia" and I cried...and then every time any one had a conversation from then on I cried. It was the good cry...
And I just finished Stardust (My thoughts were with you again) because it was for free and such... So I did lots of kissy love-love tonight.
Now I am going to bed.
AND yes...I was so proud of how bright the colors came out and I was just so surprised and I wanted fluffy stuffed animals all over her room and...I actually have the room in my head and that's just too clean...and KIDS!
That and she'd probably sit behind her bed to eat stolen chocolate so that no one would catch her immediately. This was a learning experience...
And my awaken for way too long-ness is getting me distracted. You're beautiful. And I will give you all the love I can...but I know it isn't the right kind.

I think this is absolutely adorable and amazing!! Seriously, chica, this is fabulous. The textures and colors and perspective are all amazing and I just cannot get over how cute Alchemy is. If this is who I think this is for, I have no doubt he positively loved it. I know things are rocky right now, but you're going to get through it! I know you will!
