I understand the emotions you are portraying here. I myself hate the phone itself so I find such relationships so difficult. Unless i can see the person's face when i'm talking to them it feels so false and unreal, so easy to misinterpret a pause or a sigh without seeing their eyes or their smile. Ya know?
As for the picture itself, its beautifully rendered and I think its the poses themselves that make the image work, two people so far apart trying so hard to be together but just getting depressed about it. Nicely done.

my last boyfriend became long distance 3 months into our relationship, he left for college and could never make it home. blah distance sucks. And to think i thought that was bad, and now I am going out with someone from colorado O_o its 13 hours away. The worst part is you dont get to even touch the person you love so much...cant hold there hand, cant hug them, cant kiss them...

I think you did very well with this piece. I think the stark black and white drawing helps to enforce the mood of the piece, and you've effectively composed everything so there's no overabundance of black or white.
