tl;drTwilight, Rarity (and all the mane 6) are still fillies, while Spike is an adult. Where in the show young Spike immediately falls in love in Rarity, here the opposite happens.

Nope, just an idea that came to me. I already have several scenes from the show, but "reversed" like that, in my head. I'm just too lazy to actually sit down and draw them. Also, too busy with IRL stuff.

I didn't think of filly-Twilight as being Spike's assistant. She is still Celestia's student (albeit much younger) and was just accompanying Spike on his trip on Celestia's behest.
